What to do about an abusive neighbor, this is from Friday night he threw 2 wheelie bins at me! over a broken plant in now scared to leave my flat, any advice? Do not want to involve Police as think it will just make him worse as he is clearly a violent person.

I say no other option but to go to the police immediately!

IndianaMoleWoman · 09/07/2017 10:31

How did the plant get broken? The video doesn't really show much but a very over-dramatic and unnecessarily repetitive slow-mo of a wheelie bin coming down some steps and a man throwing a stick. Can you explain what actually happened?

Whosthemummynow · 09/07/2017 10:33

Was that really thrown at you? You seem to be behind something?
That videos a hit wierd tbh.

MrsBertBibby · 09/07/2017 10:33

Police. Are either of you HA tenants? Private tenants? Leaseholders?

And whose bins was he chucking about?

Madbum · 09/07/2017 10:34

Clearly he's not going to sit down with a nice cup of tea and resolve it amicably is he? The police are the only option, if you're in a council or HA property it's worth getting in touch with them for advice.
If you're a home owner/private renter I'd consider moving.

Sunnymorningwithbacon · 09/07/2017 10:35

That video is odd as fuck and doesn't help your case at all. It makes you look like a loon. With the slow mo and the repetition. Don't you have better things to do than edit 2 seconds of video ?

IndianaMoleWoman · 09/07/2017 10:38

Also this happened on Friday evening, it's now Sunday morning, have you not been out since? or have you spent 36 hours editing that video

Whosthemummynow · 09/07/2017 10:42

If someone was launching wheelie bins at me I'm not sure my first thought would be to whip out my camera and film them!
Call the police if you're scared ffs

flumpybear · 09/07/2017 10:45

Definitely call the police and tell them you're scared and show them the footage

OnlyAQuickNC · 09/07/2017 10:48
Hmm
eastdulwich2017 · 09/07/2017 11:28

I added to an iMovie template so that i could add date and title, i did not edit it

OP posts:
eastdulwich2017 · 09/07/2017 11:29

ok i will show to police

OP posts:
eastdulwich2017 · 09/07/2017 11:29

both private tenants

OP posts:
Sunnymorningwithbacon · 09/07/2017 11:30

The overdramatic slow mo and shit is odd and will do you no favours. Just make a normal video at normal speed and show that.

You're no cecil.

eastdulwich2017 · 09/07/2017 11:31

luckily i did think to grab my phone otherwise police would just say their word against mine

OP posts:
Sunnymorningwithbacon · 09/07/2017 11:32

It's literally 4 or 5 seconds of actual video and you make it 1min 14 seconds long.

Ffs.

Trollspoopglitter · 09/07/2017 11:42

He threw them down the stairs. Not at you. You were safely inside the house, filming him. So he's attempting to damage your property in retaliation to you damaging his property. He's not assaulting you. Is it obvious you accientally damaged his property and did you offer to compensate him? Because if you go to the police, he may say you damaged it on purpose and refuse to compensate him.

CrochetBelle · 09/07/2017 11:59

Why did you repeat the bin falling down the stairs, over and over? And why did you cut out the sound of what he was saying at the end? What did he say?

PastaOfMuppets · 09/07/2017 14:34

Haha omg this video is hilarious! Very dramatic!
There is obviously a lot more history than just you accidentally damaging a plant.

Whosthemummynow · 09/07/2017 16:47

The video doesn't mean anything. It doesn't show him throwing a bin. It shows a bin falling....

He threw them down the stairs, not at you, you were obviously behind a door - did he even know you were there? I don't think this video really shows abuse towards you, but if you feel that he is threatening you, then you need to report to the police!

Alittlepotofrosie · 09/07/2017 18:27

Of course the police don't have anything better to do Hmm

MadamePomfrey · 09/07/2017 18:31

You have edited out the sound so no one can hear what he is saying! If you go to the
Police just show them the original it doesn't help you to make it look like a news report!

Trollspoopglitter · 09/07/2017 18:36

Also, are those bins and tools on his property or communal area? I had a neighbour once who kept placing his bins and garden tools On my private path, despite being told exactly where communal space ended and my private garden began. Landlord had to eventually fence off the area.
