My husband has erectile dysfunction and he doesn't want it treated

My husband and I have only had sex about six times in the last few years.

Since our child was born, sex has dwindled to three times a year.

A couple of years ago, he had an operation to repair a hernia.

He says that, since his operation, he rarely gets erections and that he wouldn't want sex anyway as he thinks it would hurt.

He has seen the GP but said there is nothing the GP can do to help.

He says he probably won't have sex with me again, but might do at some point.

The issue isn't just the lack of sex, it's the lack of any physical affection. No kisses or hugs, unless I ask for them. Even then, they are brief and cursory.

He is a great father. Our teenage son couldn't be separated from him.

I am so sexually frustrated that I cannot sleep. Masturbation doesn't fulfil the deep need in me to have regular and satisfying sex with the man I love.

I can't face a lifetime of this - it's awful.

Can anyone advise or help?

Please help, I have found a man who is the love of life.we have been together for 18 months.for the last year he has suffered with erectile dysfunction and has has been slowly getting worse, he is 49 and I an 46.He has become mental worse over the last few months when he tried viagra which had no effect. He has got it into his head now that all I want to do is go and have affairs with other men.I am frightened to do anything even just to go into town without him as he accuses me that I am meeting someone. He has become verbally abusive towards me,even though I have given up going out with my friends, stopped doing a club in the evenings and ring him twice a day when he is at work to reassure him.I have told him that I love him no matter what and it is ok and we can work through this ,but he won't listen to me.I know he is angry, upset and feels not like a man,but I have told him that I love him for him.I don't know where to turn and he now he going to leave next week once the flat he has sorted out for him to live in is ready, which he came home and told me last night.I am devastated! can anyone help please.

You really would be better off starting your own thread.

However, his insecurities are not your fault and he has become controlling and abusive because of them which is not OK.

He needs some medical support regarding the ED.

@dartsnight
Please do start your own thread,
This one is old and people won't respond
But you will get some advice, help and support if you start your own thread.

As a side note - let him go.
Good riddance to him.
Time for YOU now.
