How often do you phone your mum?

I was just wondering how often others speak to their mum's on the phone, as my mum gets very funny with me if I leave it more than around 5 days.
I work in the day, then come home & have the boys demanding, & once they are in bed, I have a bath & something to eat, then it is quite late. I just feel the need to relax at that stage in the evening & tend not to make any phone calls unless I have to!
I went round to see my parents on Sunday & haven't dared to phone mum for a lift to work, as she will accuse me of only phoning because I need something!
I know I'm going to be in trouble again, so will either phone her later today or tomorrow, but I am dreading the lecture I may get!
Am I being a terrible daughter?
How often do others speak to their mum's & do you get similar reactions if you leave it more than a few days?

Zippi, thing is ( and I can only speak for myself here) although I sometimes call mum a few times a day its not always for long conversations but usually like: have you seen that on the news or you never guess who i just saw etc.....
I never spent most of the day on the phone!!! LOL..!! DH & I also speak quite regular..oh and text..suppose I am just good at multitasking .

Before I had ds ( 3 weeks old) it was easier to call her as dd is 20 months so wasn't demanding attention iykwim BUT now ds is here its not so easy so maybe the calls have/will decrease....

Mine lives 300 miles away but I speak to her every week.

Chandra · 04/03/2007 17:08

Once a week, but they live in the other side of the world, and I see them once or twice a year, so weekly calls are essential to mantain the idea that we still have a family!

When my mum was alive we could often speak every day (my parents live about 200 miles away).

She died almost 3 years ago and it's the thing I miss the most. I have no idea what we talked about, just general chit chat/unloading, etc.

It's really difficult talking to my dad on the phone, especially as he's still grieving/depressed, and I have to steel myself to ring him, which makes me feel horrible.

I always try to speak to or see my mum and dad everyday. If i don't i can't relax, oh and we always say 'love you' before hanging up the phone

I speak to my mum 1-2 times a week. I also send the odd text messages too, although tend to send more textx to my dad.

bubblicious · 04/03/2007 21:12

Im so excited I dont think I will be able to sleep tonight!

We have certainly been put in our places with this one, although I think it doesnt quite beat the last dress up day when I and ST had to dress up as maids for the princesses in the Reception, Im sure you can picture who the princesse were cant you!

pinkchampagne · 04/03/2007 21:16

LOL! I think walking to work with whiskers may just beat that though!!
