Me and a girl seemed to really hit it off and she told me to add her and after a flirty conversation she just stooped replying?

What's going on?

I didn't think you could sound any more ridiculous than you already have Cara. But, au contraire, I was wrong.

I have never ever seen the word jibe (meaning tease or make a sneering remark) spelled with a g. None of the British based dictionaries I quickly googled suggest jibe with that definition should be spelled with a g. Neither does the old fashioned paper OED that I still, rather quaintly, refer to almost daily.

If I were you I'd take this as an indication that it is rude and just plain wanky to correct other MNers' spelling and / or grammar. Especially in such a ludicrously pompous manner.

You are not me for which I am grateful given that you stoop to using words like "wanky".

BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2017 23:40

I'm assuming the word "wanky" is the only thing you disagree with in my post? Though I personally think it conveys the idea of supercilious smuggery very well.

I think what you meant to say was "yes, sorry, I was wrong about jibe and made myself look a bit of a tit" Grin

PollytheDolly · 01/03/2017 23:59

I like the word wanky.

ItShouldHaveBeenJingleJess · 02/03/2017 00:06

I like the word 'supercilious'! Am going to make it my mission to use it at least ten times tomorrow (not quite sure how as I'll only be doing the school/Asda run but still...) Hope OP is OK, best of luck!

BitOutOfPractice · 02/03/2017 09:42

ItShould you'll just have to use it on MN. Go on, call me supercilious. I can take it!

ItShouldHaveBeenJingleJess · 02/03/2017 09:47

bit I keep getting it confused in my head with that ridiculously long word from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! Which in turn may make me look ridiculous....

GrumpyOldBag · 02/03/2017 10:42

I was called supercilious in a school report once.

I had to look it up ...

BitOutOfPractice · 02/03/2017 16:02

IShould If you mean supercalifragilisticexpealidocious (sp?) then that's from Mary Poppins and you are really confused Grin
