Younger women

DH and I are having a conversation. I said that all men were biologically programmed to prefer younger women, if presented with the invitation. We are 60 and have been married for 25 plus years. He is offended by the suggestion. What's your opinion

All that says to me Alley is that men are rather vain and also rather over-estimate their own allure.

It looks at what men want - not at what they get. And I've got to say, we all know from bitter experience that there are large numbers of men who punch way above their weight and therefore never get anywhere...

Many of them seem to have a "don't ask don't get" attitude which also goes to make life a bit difficult for young women and girls everywhere. (Thinking catcalling, men who refuse to leave you alone in the pub etc etc).

Anyhoo.

Strange thing is that at the end of it, it's usually women who are happier to be by themselves than men, I think? Not sure how all this fits together TBH.

You lost OP

Right from the beginning. You said you thought he was biologically programmed to prefer younger women. Whatever that means! Confused

And because he disagreed with you, so what. It's you problem enough to come on here and make a deal of it.

In general, most men do find younger women more sexually attractive than older ones. That's just biology. It doesn't necessarily mean they would want a long-term relationship with someone much younger, with whom they may have little in common.

In general, most women do find wealthy, succssful men with high status jobs more attractive than skint unemployed drop-outs. That's also biology. It doesn't necessarily mean they want a long-term relationship with someone much older, with whom they may have little in common.

Study after study shows that, cross-culturally, women do tend to select a mate older than themselves and men do tend to prefer, seek out and choose younger women. It's the evolutionary v social role explanation for it that's the cause for debate.

Is there no middle ground between wealthy high status men and skint drop outs?

Do women not find good looking young men attractive?

When women have lots of money they often seem to go for attractive younger men. Is it biology or something else, then?

Never convinced by these "biology innit" arguments. Like "men are more visual" oh really. Excuses excuses.

Sarc: What's a red top? Am I too tired here?

I thought it was a euphemism for a bald head...in my defence I can be naive. Grin
