I apologise for the terrible thread title, but I didn't have a clue what to go with and could no longer ask your advice Grin
I still like train edition but didn't want to use it incase it's terrible, which it probably is.

So here we are, part three of the 'I've met someone' saga.
The first thread was very positive and exciting, the second was mostly negative for all of us and here we are starting the third!

Let's make it a good one! Smile

Don't worry, Prof, it's all been said in jest! Smile Of course you'd be welcome anytime, absolutely, (one single parent to another) but all this banter is for fun, isn't it? We all know the likelihood of us all actually meeting up is slim.

Where's PGtips these days, btw?

ProfessorPickles · 27/06/2016 21:28

I do realise the chances are very slim but I still love the idea! We will stick to the wedding invites maybe? Grin

You guys aren't seriously thinking that B is going to say yes, really, right? I'm more than delighted to play along with this - it's bloody good fun - but I don't want you all getting your hopes up for me. Which is so sweet incidentally. I'm very touched. Smile

I'm going to head for bed now. Busy day tomorrow... When do you start your summer job Prof?

ThisIsTheRightTime · 27/06/2016 21:31

Your wedding, absolutely YES Prof! And I'm not one for going to weddings, generally, although I am heading off to one late September because I REALLY like the family involved.

I won't be getting married again! Once was enough. I've got three amazing children now.

ProfessorPickles · 27/06/2016 21:34

If I had to put money on it I'd definitely say yes, despite his moody moment. But of course nobody knows apart from B himself and possibly the owners wife

I'm not in love with the idea of marriage but I suppose that's because I haven't met the right person for me, I imagine I'd change my mind if I did! Smile

I start tomorrow! I'm dreading it a little bit, but I need the money so I will work and work and work haha.

Good night This! Smile xxxx

Yes, I knew he's a car mechanic, This, tho' am not totally up to speed with all posters' circs. And you have a jag?

The convo with your Ex shows you are making excellent progress - and will continue to do so, on all fronts...

ThisIsTheRightTime · 27/06/2016 21:37

Good luck with your job Prof! The beauty of knowing it's temporary will get you through and make some time for dreaming about your future work.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. Smile

Good night. Perhaps someone should message apivita to let her know where we are although I suspect she's far too busy to get involved for the time being with everything going on in her life.

TheSilveryPussycat · 27/06/2016 21:37

x-posted with many...Night, This

ThisIsTheRightTime · 27/06/2016 21:40

Good night Silvery. It's really lovely having you on this thread now.

Muddlewitch · 27/06/2016 21:46

I don't have a passport either. I do have a kayak though, maybe we could sneak across.

Good luck for tomorrow Prof hope it goes well.

Great news about your conversation with the STBXH This, I know that's a huge step forward. Must be a relief too, men like that drain the life out of you, don't they. I think they feed off of emotion like vampires, it's probably no coincidence that it started to ease off once you had met B. Perhaps he sensed, even without really realising, that your attention was invested elsewhere and there was nothing to feed off, after all it is all about attention with narcs isn't it. Someone posted something on another thread this week about the grey stone method of dealing with such people, which backs up that theory. Whatever happens with B on Thursday what a 2016 it's been for you so far in terms of your own mental wellbeing and moving on. I know how much that takes, I hope you allow yourself to recognise and celebrate your own strength and achievements.

CrazyDuchess · 27/06/2016 23:07

Woohooo is this a MN trip to France next year then folks?? I am happy to marry a random cute French dude!

SweeneyToddFlyingSquad · 27/06/2016 23:15

Bloody hell duchess...France won't know what's hit them

CrazyDuchess · 27/06/2016 23:21

Hahaha Sweeney.... well it would be just cruel to keep my fabulousNess over here in the UK!

LovePGtipsMonkey · 27/06/2016 23:24

This, I've only missed one day, hardly gone awol haha. I'm in london for three days for some seminars so can only get online in the eves, but on Thurs I'm around on and off all day - just in time haha!
I think SAturday is not going to be your first date, if you ask him on Thurs, it's likely to be Thurs (unless he has some important errands to run or whatever). Come on, This, you wouldn't be offering him a drink if most of all didn't think there aer good chances based on all the info about him we have - and I bet you are not that negative (that it would be a 'no') so you will be asking him. I'd say more - I can't see ONE reason why he'd refuse a drink when you are mutually attacted - he may be nervous about gettin ginto a relationship but he doesn't have to commit to anything there and then - it's a chat and a drink to see if things can go further! The only reason he could have is that he's just met someone new but even then - he couldn't have got involved that fast so then he has options. So a yes is highly likely. Some people say 'no' if they feel depressed/unconfident but I don't think he's that depressed - he should cheer up when he hears yo uare not moving too. And he's not unconfident - i mean he may be when/if it comes to a serious relationship but he's not unconfident as a man (unlike Prof's guy, I should add - but this can be sweet, Prof, it depends how he deals with his nervousness).
I think it's great if there is a wedding coming out of this thread - Prof, looking at you! - I think we should be all invited, it's be great and also we can claim we've contributed!

LovePGtipsMonkey · 27/06/2016 23:25

*most of us, not 'all'

ThisIsTheRightTime · 28/06/2016 19:31

Good evening PGtips! It's lovely to see you here and even if it was just one day it felt like much longer! Wink

I beg to differ on most of the uplifting points you have mentioned concerning my HUGE Grin act of courage on Thursday. First, I won't be able to go out for a drink on Thursday. Second, I'm not asking him because I think there's a strong chance of him saying yes rather because I think I've reached the point where I need clarity to move on. This, of course, does not mean I'm not bothered either way as you well know I'd rather have a yes from him anytime!

There are a few very good reasons why I think he will be saying no. First, whilst he seems attracted to me I don't think I'm a big deal for him. Second, I think he will take the coward's approach; going out with me would be stepping out of his comfort zone. I saw my very good friend, Alexis, my hairdresser (very talented person in so many ways) and we had a bloody good laugh about the whole thing. He's willing to be part of the pompom cheerleading group btw, Muddle, Crazy, Sweeney and Prof. He asked me how I was going to ask B out for a drink. 'Are you going for the direct approach?' I asked him if he had any advice to which he replied 'I'd usually babble on, leave, and then realise that I'd completely forgotten to ask'.

Very helpful. Ta very much Alexis! Grin

Anyways, I hope you've all had a splendid day.

SweeneyToddFlyingSquad · 28/06/2016 19:42

Evening this...not long to go now...I'm just ironing my outfit and shaking the dust off the pom-poms...all we need now is the motorbike and the dance routine from uptown girl and we set to go...just for rehearsals I'm going to be Christie Brinkley...and prof can be bully Joel and crazy muddle apivita and pg can be the dancing mechanics...or was that grease...anyway my legs are shaved and I've got a big floppy hat...where's that bike prof

SweeneyToddFlyingSquad · 28/06/2016 19:43

Sorry...that should be billy Joel...am not suggesting prof is a bully

ThisIsTheRightTime · 28/06/2016 19:49

Hello Sweeney! It's lovely to see you here this evening. Smile Thanks for the cackle. My youngest daughter is very keen on the Uptown Girl video these days. It makes me laugh. 'Can we have the song with the spanners please?' she asks.

Alexis, my friend, thinks it will do B the world of good to be shaken up a bit. And who better to do it than ME! Grin or should I write [grink], Sweeney?

ThisIsTheRightTime · 28/06/2016 19:50

And, who would you suggest was the bully on this thread, then, if not Prof, Sweeney? Wink

SweeneyToddFlyingSquad · 28/06/2016 19:50

Right prof...I'm ready

I've met someone and I don't know how to finish this title.
SweeneyToddFlyingSquad · 28/06/2016 19:54

No bully's here this....tho duchess can be a bit " you will do as you are told or else" lol...you know how forceful she can be...
Think your daughter would prefer the proper video than me prancing about in a dress lol
Yep...am looking forward to lots of grink this...
So have we got sorted in our head for Thursday??

ThisIsTheRightTime · 28/06/2016 20:11

I think come Thursday I'll be a quivering wreck Sweeney.

But I'm doing it.

And then, I'll find out he's not in when I turn up. Bloody typical that would be. In that case I'll dig my toes in and say to the boss's wife 'right, then I'll just sit here and wait for him Grin'

I told Alexis (hairdresser friend, etc.) about the boss's wife's comment - 'Oh, I'm sure he'll speak to you' when I called up - and he burst out laughing.

SweeneyToddFlyingSquad · 28/06/2016 20:16

You won't be a wreck...you are going to be your usual confidant self ...I still think you should walk in with an air of confidence...pick him up by the lapels unless he's taller than you and give him one right on the lips...then just turn and walk out lol

SweeneyToddFlyingSquad · 28/06/2016 20:16

Imagine what the bosses wife would say to that lol
