I got a flowers from Interflora. We've been divorced 15 years but he hasn't accepted were over. I even moved country 6 years ago! The delivery man reminded me that last year I told him to fuck off with his flowers. Somehow he remembered me!

Callyourselfapilot · 14/02/2016 13:05

I got a whatsapp message with a heart on. Suppose it meant he didn't have to get off his fat hungover arse after the rugby yesterday. Pls let me know how much you want for the clock. Will collect..will save me from killing him Grin

IdBuyThatForADollar · 14/02/2016 13:10

Ah shoes, no consolation but your Valentine's Day has made me chuckle.

We haven't done presents yet, as we're romantically deep cleaning the house in preparation for viewings starting next week.

My DD (10) gave me a card that said 'while I wrote this card I thought about all the things you do for me mummy and about how I will have to do all of them for you soon' which is either a nice sentiment or she's mistakenly added 40 years to my age and believes she'll have to be helping me to the loo in a few months time.

Later my DP and I are going out (first time in my life I have ever been out on Valentine's Day) and we will exchange sci-fi/space themed presents.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 14/02/2016 13:10

Blimey at cat clock. Whoever sold that to your DH?. Am surprised you did not hit him over the head with it!. However, its likely too heavy to do so.

IdBuyThatForADollar · 14/02/2016 13:11

And Talcum - you win on the mad ex front. I'm awaiting the tragic/sad text from my ex as is traditional. We've been apart over 3 years. I live with my DP. Sigh.

Wardrobespierre · 14/02/2016 13:19

That clock is ace. It's so kitsch. You need to drape it in twinkly lights really. Embrace how naff it is. Name the cats too. Can I suggest Noon and Midnight?

We don't do Fugly Cat Day either. DH is away this weekend and I'm cleaning the kitchen. DH is thoughtful every day. We don't do anniversaries or Christmas presents either.

DragonsCanHop · 14/02/2016 13:19

Sorry shoes but that cat clock has made my day!

I got a jar of my favourite sweets, a hand made card and croissants with bacon in bed all made and bought by my 3 darling daughters.

We had their abusive father removed from the house last week so now it's just us and they are looking after me whilst I figure out how to do life.

NantucketNightbird · 14/02/2016 13:21

I actually like the clock Blush Confused

IdBuyThatForADollar · 14/02/2016 13:21

Congrats Dragons. Your daughters sound ace.

Potatoface2 · 14/02/2016 13:33

i think the clock is okay.....im shocked at the ex husband still sending flowers after 15 years and absolutely love the idea that dollars daughter has already got her head around the idea of her mum being elderly very soon and needing help to the toilet...made me giggle

My DH appears to have completely forgotten that its Valentine's Day so far, as he hasn't said a word. However, he has been waiting on me hand and foot for the last four days as I've been unwell. He has done all the cooking, shopping and cleaning, as well as stuff for dd. He has also stepped in to do stuff for my elderly parents while I have been feeling ill.

Some flowers or choccies would be nice, but for me, it's the everyday stuff that counts more than the "special day" gestures.

I haven't got anything for DH for Valentines Day as he thinks it's a commercial gimmick. I will wish him a happy one later on though. :)

Olddear · 14/02/2016 13:48

Hells teeth! That clock!!

Effster23 · 14/02/2016 13:58

I've been ill and in bed for the last few days but think I'm on the mend now. I very apologetically asked dh to get his card from its hiding place and a pen so I could write it out. (Romantic, I know!)
He huffed a bit and said we can do Valentine's Day when I'm feeling better.
I don't need to be told he's forgotten. Daft man.
But he's kept me in good supply of drinks and Kleenex and got the small people sorted so I'll probably keep him.

kittybiscuits · 14/02/2016 15:01

shoes LTB Grin

tingon · 14/02/2016 15:19

I know someone who would love that clock, so I've found one.

It costs about five times what I thought it would. No way!!!!

Karen85 · 14/02/2016 15:22

Is valentine's days just for women?

iklboo · 14/02/2016 15:22

Oh. My. Good. Gravy.

iklboo · 14/02/2016 15:25

We don't do Valentine's Day but we'll be picking up takeaway curry after we've dropped DS at MIL's for a couple of days (she only really gets to see him in school holidays). The nice owners always give us a baileys and a brandy while we're waiting - Baileys for me - and a bottle of beer each to take home with the food.

janaus · 14/02/2016 16:11

Ugliest thing I have ever seen,

My Valentine's Day was a huge mistake. Took, reconciling DH to the movies. Saw Dirty Grandpa. Bad enough living with someone like this, then have to pay to see a dirty old sex mad man.

ExConstance · 14/02/2016 16:21

champagne and cooked breakfast in bed, and lots more beside.
We have been together 32 years.

Joysmum · 14/02/2016 16:24

No card, no pressie. DH has taken DD to London for the day whilst I paint the family room.

We don't do valentines anyway as our anniversary is next month and we get lots of us time anyway so no excuse needed.

guineapig1 · 14/02/2016 16:37

Bottle of prosecco on Friday night. Sounds good in theory but is in fact quite routine and driven by my 6pm Friday texts on leaving work after a week from hell: please buy fizz and cat food. Followed 10 mins later by "and make sure it's cold!"

Costacoffeeplease · 14/02/2016 16:55

I got a card and my favourite liqueur chocolates - I'm pretty much housebound, so made him some heart-shaped scones (he's a sucker for a cream tea)

But that clock - wow, that's made my day Grin

Cabrinha · 14/02/2016 17:04

Oh good lord that's something else!
The bricks!
The cats that don't actually look like cats... Shock

Christinayangstwistedsista · 14/02/2016 17:09

Oh dear god, that clock! It deserves a thread of its own!
