We don't do Valentine's Day. But we did go and buy our new kitchen today. That has made my year :)

funny cards, excellent food and a shag. Not necessarily in that order. DH also got some heart shaped jelly beans which we are eating now. Nailed it.

The cards have to have good jokes, that's the rule. In fact this year both our cards were bastardised birthday cards.

Ok, the clock and tree win!

It's funny how men think: you like cats/trees, it's got a bow/flower on it/it's pink = you like it!

That's how my 6 year old thinks FFS!

I love the cat clock! Boyfriend had weekend of valentines fun - went to Calder exhibition at Tate yesterday then had Vietnamese dinner; this morning he made me coffee and croissants in bed, we exchanged cards and he gave me a wonderful handmade besom (broom) which he'd made himself and is a beautiful work of art/craft. Then out for afternoon tea with prosecco at British museum. Feeling very loved up Smile

My late husband 'didn't do' Valentines Day so I went along with that - not difficult in our final years together which were unhappy.

After a long period being single, I started seeing someone about 5 months ago. Today he bought me a card, with a lovely message and some posh chocolates. It's the first time in over 25 years someone has bought me anything for Valentine's. It's also the first time in all those years that I've bought a card - I got him one of those 'alternative Valentine' cards with a message on that could have been written for him.

How did you not start a hideous clock thread? I would have had to!

But hearing about McDonalds breakfast for Val's day has given me a jealous rage!

I never got him anything as he never bothers but when I hinted he says he can buy me flowers anytime ??? Yet he doesn't. Later he commented about not wanting to spend money yes we have had an expensive month but really £10 on some flowers he then walked in with a box of beer for himself so I am not impressed

Usual male grump about Valentines Day - DW got a fancy meal cooked for her (surf and turf with fresh seafood), a bunch of flowers, and fresh coffee in bed.

I got...nothing. Such is Valentine's day...

A card. First time in 12 years. Not bothered about v day. H saw it and wanted to get it for me. He's been taking his feelings for 12yrs so maybe he's actually turned a corner. Who knows? Hmm

Fry up (including perfectly cooked bacon - my DH is veggie) in bed for breakfast and then fizzy wine for lunch (pizza). Cake for afternoon tea. That'll do me!

DH has made me my own arm protector which he has carved a pattern into, to celebrate my skill at archery.

He is awesome!

Got a "grumpy" mule pack of coffee and a "snore & peace" herbal tea (all unwrapped) which DH panic bought yesterday when he find out I had bought him something - a really nice (and quite expensive) bottle of red wine, which I spent a long time choosing according to his taste.

He seemed super proud with himself too - I had to close my eyes and all...

I wasn't expecting a diamond ring but this is shit and is making me wonder whether he knows me at all or actually loves me.

I had a bacon butty brought to him in bed this morning, last night I had prepared a nice meal, a nice pudding, chilled a bottle of prosecco, not to mentioned "afters" in bed. If I hadn't done this, Valentine's Day would have been a big fat nothing.

To top it all DS2 had made a V card at preschool (for daddy) and DS1 got upset because he had nothing, so I helped him make a card (for daddy), explaining to him that children don't need to bother as it's a special day for mummies and daddies to show how much they loved each other.

So he got 3 lovely cards, a bottle of expensive wine, dinner and sex and I got a bag of Fucking "grumpy" mule and sone grandmother herbal tea to help me sleep - he obviously failed to notice that I'm asleep by 9pm pretty much everyday as I'm totally exhausted of working and looking after the children/house.

Never felt so little loved.

I'm going to drum into my boys to look after their wives.

Fucking Valentine's Day and I never usually swear!
