I'm a bloke - can I post here?

theroxbury · 05/07/2015 13:43

I don't really have any burning issues or anything but just thought if I am allowed to post to give a mans view on things or if anyone wants a man's opinion an anything.

I'm a nice chap, nothing fancy, aged 33. I don't know how I even came across here but the only thin I want to say is that I like older/mature/ ladies!

Cheers!

Sparkling! You're not... a... a....'chav' are you?

Report
Sparklingbrook · 05/07/2015 17:14

Very possibly Doc. Not sure that the word 'chav' is allowed though unlike 'bloke'. Grin

Grin I can see I'm out of my depth here. I will return to the rarified atmosphere of baby names and primary ed.

Bloke is better than dude, though.

Dude is awful as is guy. As in ' Hey you guys'.

Wow, this is interesting, like watching a bunch of American fraternity brothers hazing a new member. Not very friendly, I must say.

Lweji · 05/07/2015 17:48

Oh, this is MN friendly. Grin

Ah, but to be fair, the OP read more like a lonely hearts ad. I'd expect a bit of gentle ribbing if I'd posted that on the relationships board. Maybe it would've got a better reception on Chat?

Report
Lweji · 05/07/2015 17:49

I don't think Chat would help.

Maybe AIBU. They are gentle there.

OP - please come back and ignore these bullies

women are never in much doubt as to what men think.

I'd prefer a man who came here and said I want to open my ears to what women think.

Report
Lweji · 05/07/2015 18:06

There are no bullies in MN, only vipers.

Report
Y0la · 05/07/2015 18:10

I don't think we should compromise ourselves here bending over backwards to prove that we're not vipers.

Some chap ambles up, offers his male perspective like that is a rare and precious gift.... He is not the first. He won't be the last and he is being very gently mocked!

If he feels 'hazed' or roasted by this thread then he's got a big ego.

What do you mean?

I wonder if op didn't spend much time checking out the other posts in relationships before posting. If he had he might have realised its not the dating part of the site Wink.

I think everyone has worked through this well actually. He's proved he's not a total twat and everyone's had a gentle giggle.

Good for you!!

There are usually a few paw-strokers who turn up, saying oh the poor wee man. When they'd happily tear a strip off a poster if they presumed she was a woman.

ViperNet. I like it Grin

How about the idea of a little blue or pink dot under each username so then people can easily see if the poster is m/f? If anyone's bothered that is :)

Hope you all have had a fun & relaxing Sunday. Im gonna browse the forums later and see if I can add such valuable input :p Brew
