I'm just curious, really! Grin

I don't go out of my way to tell him but of course he notices the night time pants and the items in the bathroom bin (which he empties).

Some changes to sex - towel down, no going downstairs, probably less sex, quick wash afterwards. He's happy as his previous partners banned sex altogether.

He doesn't grasp the PMT grumps/crying over nothing though, that all scares him a bit and he takes it too seriously. Luckily that only happens now and then.

No difference other than doesn't try to initiate sex as neither of us like to during my period.

He used to try to rub my back but quickly learned that unlike with a back injury massage really doesn't help when I'm on.

I do tell him but not every time. It either comes up in conversation or it doesn't. Occasionaly he will actually ask me, if he sees that I'm struggling or not standing properly upright.

No different to usual, unless I am having one of my worse periods (they tend to alternate between "okay" and "excruciating"). If it's a bad one he will get me paracetamol and give me a hug. Once when I got in the bath at four am, rocking backwards and forwards in agony in tears, he came in when he woke up, gave me a hug, and held my hand for a while.

I always tell him when I get my period - we are getting married in 8 months, so this would basically be the worst time to get pregnant!!

I've paid a shit ton of money for my dress. I AM WEARING THAT DRESS.

Sweetly. Last time he made sure all my big knickers were washed and left them on my bed with nurofen.

Asks for BJ's

As affectionate as usual, sympathetic if I moan. He always knows because I keep my tampons in a big lego brick box he gave me and it lives in the cupboard the rest of the month.
When we first started going out he did ask what it was like - I think he knows now after 6 years of marriage - a bit rocky some months but mostly ok!

No different.

Report
Sallystyle · 06/08/2014 22:20

And yes he knows.

Everyone knows as I moan enough and with bloody flooding everywhere it becomes obvious at times.

He loves it as he knows it's easier to make me orgasm that week and the raging pmt is now a distant memory. Like Kentish, might put a towel down and keep the lights low, but otherwise it doesn't really affect him. He will be sympathetic and get me nurofen and tea if it's painful. He knows it's a bad one when the hot water bottle appears, tucked in my lounging trousers.

Pretty much the same as when I don't, and sometimes rather sympathetic when I'm feeling sick, into the bargain.

Report
ouryve · 06/08/2014 22:40

And, unlike others, I get groped a bit more than usual because, apparently, my neck and boobs smell rather appealing. That's usually my first indication not to have anything rich or spicy to eat because I'm about to come on (perimenopausal and erratic)

Pathetic. He tries not to these days but he still cringes slightly when I mention the P word. He used to be far worse saying he didnt want to know, he doesnt want to discuss it.....and this was when we were TTC!

He was brought up by an old fashioned non UK born mother who personally and culturally believed that men should never know our "secret" (some fucking secret!). He had three sisters but it was never ever mentioned. He says the only time it was referred to was when his sister asked his mum to get some sanpro and was told "Not in front of X!".

So although it pisses me off, I do understand where it comes from.

He has also stated that he has never had sex when the woman has been on her period, presumably in case her vagina bites his knob off. I havent told him that I know him to be completely and utterly wrong in that assertion Wink

He tends to avoid me because I'm a bitch (apparently) but if I'm in pain he'll rub my tum and gets me nice things. Definitely no sex though, we used to but we stopped and now can't even entertain the idea.

He asks if I need tampons when he does the shopping :-)

Report
Idontseeanyicegiants · 07/08/2014 08:52

Not much different, when I used disposable sanpro he would usually ask me if I needed any picking up from the shop (much to his Mum's shock Grin) and will willingly put up with me mooching on the sofa and demanding back rubs. No sex though, he doesn't have a problem with it but I do - I feel as sexy and in the mood as a brick when I'm on.

My partner is sensitive to the issue, although he insists that we continue to have sex, which means usually a day or two after my first day of bleed. It does feel rather different but often still enjoyable.

Sympathy if needed. Same otherwise. Can buy sanitary towels without making a big deal.

Report
JohnFarleysRuskin · 07/08/2014 11:01

he insists that we continue to have sex,

How about you? Are you happy to continue to have sex?

Report
kaykayblue · 07/08/2014 11:15

Yeah Jophie - what do you mean by he insists that you continue sex?

That's not really something he can unilaterally decide!!!

If he doesn't understand, maybe you could repeatedly kick him in the nuts and then demand sex from him that second.

Report
Dontgotosleep · 07/08/2014 11:24

Johnfarley and Kay and indeed Jophie. I am also concerned about the word "insists".

I am amazed at how differently everyone is wired tbh. I'd never have sex during my period - nothing to with mess, I just can't do it. It's like everything disconnects for that couple of days - physically that is, not mentally. I can't even get myself off, never mind DH attempting to (I'd kill him if he tried). Bodies are weird.

Report
MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 07/08/2014 12:48

Oh and yes, 'insists' is not a good word. If you don't want to have sex, you don't have sex. They have perfectly usable hands I'd imagine.

Report
Aussiemum78 · 07/08/2014 12:56

Mine is maddeningly right. If I fight with him or I'm grumpy, it's because "you have your period". Even if he was wrong and I had a reason to be mad I can't win because my vagina is bleeding. How do you out logic that?

Stupid jerk.
