Help! Lots of banging and shouting coming from next door (yeah she took him back - stalk me for the thread!)

I'm on my way out to rehersals for until ten but OH is worried as he is home alone and can't deal with this so asked me to ask you guys! In light of Thursday night should we be calling the police to report? Do we have to wait till she comes to us? Should we wait to hear definite hitting?

Sounds like she's trying to throw him out but were loathe to get invovled too quickly!

I'd call the police. Haven't read your other threads but this doesn't sound right.

I wish someone had intervened when they heard shouting and banging in my house .

oikopolis · 28/05/2014 19:14

Right, I'll get him to call. He's just dropping me off but if it's still kicking off when he gets back he will

AnyaKnowIt · 28/05/2014 19:16

Call the police

MrsAlexVause · 28/05/2014 19:17

Call the police. I didn't with my neighbours and as soon as she was single and had nobody to shout at, turned on me!

Doinmummy · 28/05/2014 19:17

I would still call even if it's all gone quiet. Poor woman could be laying on the floor injured ..... Or worse

CogitoErgoSometimes · 28/05/2014 19:17

How long has it been going on? If you're alarmed call the police. The more times they pick him up, the better.

mammadiggingdeep · 28/05/2014 19:17

Ring 999.

Don't know if you've read the story of the 37 year old mother stabbed the last week, her little boy ran out of the house pleading for help :(

Women die as a result of DV.

shellistar · 28/05/2014 19:18

Oh my god Doinmummy

Yeah! I'll get him to call!!!

Poor woman!

Call the police

shellistar · 28/05/2014 19:23

It started about 6:45 for certain. We had to go out at 7:00. I've forwarded the link to the thread to him. Were so worried about her, we heard noises last night - just doors slamming. Well I say we, I slept through it! OH is a mess today cos every bang he thought it was him laying into her. As selfish as this sounds I hope to god she LTB cos we can't cope with keeping an ear open all the bloody time!

Please don't turn a blind eye to this. It can take many attempts for a woman to get rid of an abuser.

justiceofthePeas · 28/05/2014 19:27

999 everytime.

The police can now prosecute based on your and their evidence even if she is too intimidated to.

Injunctions can be put in place.

well done for having called before. It takes an average of 7 attempts for a survivor of DV to escape. The more you call the closer she may get so don't give up on her just because she took him back. And she must have been really desperate to come to your door in that state.

But do be careful OP. make sure you have your phone with you and charged at all times as he clearly has little qualms about being violent towards women.

shellistar · 28/05/2014 19:27

Yeah, I know! Took years for me to see the light.

Neighbour has openly admitted she'd rather be with him than alone :-(

She's probably gonna hate us but we'll call it in.

Poor woman

shellistar · 28/05/2014 19:33

Good point Justice although he did scarper when she attempted to get help. He does seem like a big bully of a man in his own house IYKWIM? However your advice is very bang on!

We will call it in

OP posts:
shellistar · 28/05/2014 20:30

Police are in their way out! She's been shouting for him to leave apparently so that's good news!

OP posts:
blueeyedmonster · 28/05/2014 20:46

In that case I hope the police help her get rid of him. Well done for calling again.

shellistar · 28/05/2014 20:49

That's what I thought Blueeyed my OH heard her shouting at him to leave as it was her house. Hopefully he has already gone but it's best to log all this. She rents so I bet she'll move as a result of nosey interfering neighbours but as long as she's safe that's all I care about!

Doinmummy · 28/05/2014 21:00

I wonder if the police will want to take a sate em from you

Doinmummy · 28/05/2014 21:00

Doinmummy · 28/05/2014 21:31

Have the police been ?

shellistar · 28/05/2014 21:43

I'll update you when I get home, stood back stage trying to get info from OH! The police might not knock on ours but go straight to next door.
