How often do you say I Love You?

DP and I have been together 2years 3months. We have two kids. We both say the L word several times every day either face to face, in a text or phone call and always when we leave for work in the morning and when saying good night. I happened to mention this to some girlfriends and they seem to mock me implying it was weird. Is it

Thank you everlong I do feel of all the things that have ever happened to me, that was the luckiest thing of all. And I do like reading on here all the people saying how they tell their OHs ILY and have it reciprocated.

Equally, I appreciate that there are loads of ways of showing love, and even if you don't say the three little words, it doesn't mean you don't feel it or mean it, people just do it in different ways.

I do live in fear of ending a telephone meeting with my boss (who is in US so only talk by phone)"great thanks, speak To you soon -- LOVE YOU ". Oooooops Blush

Been together 8 years.

We say it when we end a telephone conversation, I go to work and when we go to bed.

We also say it out of the blue pretty often as well.

Not that often. But do we both know it through and through? Yes.

For me, and I see it's different for everyone, saying those very important words so often, almost like a bye bye, reduces the meaning a bit.

Married 25 years and very happy Smile.

4 year together. We both say it to each other all the time. We are possibly the most sickening soppy couple behind closed doors (complete with pet names and everything). We tone it down in public though.

Same aa the OP. Been together 6 1/2 years, got DS aged 2 and another one due. Me, DH and DS all say it multiple times a day at home and we really mean it. DH even says it at the end of a call when he's at work on a building site, ha!

9 years together and we say it loads, it's practically a verbal tic (which makes it really obvious when one of us is cross with the other because we stop warbling I LOVE YOOOOOU across the house). We also have silly conversations about whether we love each other:

"D'you love me?"
"Yeah."
"Even though I can't be arsed washing up?"
"Yeah. D'you love me even though I've farted?"
"Nah, gone off you now."

We are quite sickening, aren't we? Pet names too.

I say it a lot more than my DP does. In fact, his response is often "and I'm fond of you" Hmm

Vinomcstephens · 05/05/2014 16:38

We say it all the blasted time! Sometimes can't move in our house without someone trotting out the L word and I, ahem, love it Smile That said, I do often use it to my advantage...as in I'll ask my husband if he loves me, to which he usually replies yes (if he's watching footie then the answer is usually "only if you shut up" Grin) if he says yes then I generally ask him to do something like fetch me chocolate - actions speaking louder than words and all that!

KouignAmann · 05/05/2014 17:33

My DP and I are very restrained and although I love the bones of him and he me, he will say fondly (mid sexy romp) "I quite like you".
Anything more would seem exaggerated!
But I know he really means he loves me a millionfold.

MegaClutterSlut · 05/05/2014 17:38

Been with DH 14 years and we say it several times a day to each other

Appletini · 05/05/2014 19:05

We say it lots. Anyone mocking is probably jealous OP...
