Cow?
DP has been diagnosed with Bells Palsy, which means half his face is temporarily paralysed, he has spent most of the time since finding out asleep (he found out Saturday!!). However, it is not with me he is alseep, but at his mothers. He has gone again tonight and I have been left to look after ds1 and ds2, dog and kitten. Should I encourage him to stay at his mothers or should he deal with it here. The reason I am so pissed off with him is because several months ago I had to have an operation, which I was in hospital overnight, when I cam home DP announced he was going back to work and I had to deal with ds's. Sorry turning into a real rant!!!!

Tell him - 250,000 odd posters can't be wrong

Poor dp. Afflicted with the worst condition KNOWN TO MANKIND and getting slagged off on Mumsnet.

I should say I do sympathise with anyone who has or has had Bell's Palsy as it doesn't sound nice, but really, your dp's attitude is a load of crap. My dh is chronically ill and lives in constant pain, and he looks after ds on his own every afternoon and occasionally all day when I have to go into work.

Fio - well sort of guilty, but more angry with myself for leaving it up.

I can totally relate Jazzi - my xp used to do run off to his mum all the time - so Mr Jazzi make note of the X in that xp.
In fact the real final straw for me was when my x took to his bed with a cold the day I came home with dd (after a ceasarian) leaving me to deal with a 3 yo and a newborn. His mummy had made him some nice cabbage soup though (he was on a diet) so he offered me a bit of that before he went off to bed with a scarf around his throat.

Jazzi, is he taking any medication for it? I was given steroids, despite the pregnancy and my face was back to normal after a month, though real improvements came within 2 weeks. Like Molesworth's sister, I had to tape one eye shut, though I didn't bother in hospital, as my face seemed to frighten people enough as it was! But I managed to have a baby, come home and look after her, so he should be able to help you a bit more.

thinking of you xx

No cerys, they said that he went to the doctors too late for steroids to be effective.
