Teach a shy girl how to flirt please!

I am shy and have a crush and want to learn to flirt!

I just don't know how and worry that I will make a total fool of myself. I just don't know how to do it in a natural way. I'm not sure if he would think I was crazy if I started hair twirling and fluttering my eyelashes!

So he is quiet and I am shy and, unless I do something, this will never move on.

I have been working on my confidence and my appearance but flirting just seems beyond me.

Going to work on eye contact! Working on being more open and chatty with people in general and starting conversations as generally people start talking to me and I just respond to that.

If you're going down the eye contact route FluffyDuckie, you'll have to do it with a slight smile. A big cheesy grin is no good as he'd think he has got egg yolk on his chin or something. No smile at all and he'll think you're challenging him to a staring contest.
It's a pity your friend 's not subtle or tactful. Can't you get another friend to call into the shop when he's there and say something like, "oh, you must be the bloke that FluffyDuckie likes"?
At least he'd know then that you've got the raging hots for him. The ball's in his court then. You can just go into the shop pretending you're unaware that your friend has said anything.

I wish there was a test you could do to find out if somebody liked you like that, something that left your dignity intact.

You said you worry a lot about what other people think of you. When in conversation, try to consciously make yourself think "what do I thino of this person?", consider their mannerisms in an objective, distant sort of way. It might help your general confidence. Worked for my girlfriend anyway.

And forget the tactics, just strike up a conversation with this bloke and see where it leads. Find a good moment to ask him to join you for a drink.
Good luck

"I wish there was a test you could do to find out if somebody liked you like that, something that left your dignity intact."

Problem solved, Fluffy. Just ask him if you can swab the inside of his mouth and take a urine sample; then get those down to the lab for analysis. You'll soon know if he fancies you when the results come back. Wink

What man4live said. Switch it round completely - "what is this person like? What do I think of them?"

Shyness is self-centred in this respect: shy people spend so much time worrying about what others think of them; why would they be thinking anything about you at all? Most people are far more interested in themselves, the weather, the odd noise in their car, whether the bank's still open, etc, etc Grin Find out about them, and what you think about them.

Wouldn't it be handy if you could, made Wink
