I have been messaging a guy online for a while and we were supposed to have a date today but we got our wires crossed so we have rescheduled.

He knows I am a mum and he seems good with kids. He is very broody in fact I think. He messaged me last night and I texted him saying I couldn't talk as I was trying to detangle dds very knotty hair. He then asked me how long her hair is and I thought Hmm

Then I called him tonight for a chat and without thinking I told him my dd is beautiful to which he replied "All little girls are beautiful until they grow up." He then thought this was hilarious but I just didn't get it. In fact I thought Hmm again.

He also revealed that he dodn't talk to his parents as they owe him £30,000 and that he hasn't had kids yet as he has always had wronguns. He then told me about a couple of his exes and their exploits. He's really not a keeper is he but why the wierd comments about my dd? They are not majorly awful but just a bit creepy.

"He seems good with kids" - you know this from only messaging online? Hmm

and yes - sounds creepy and weird to me

Beamur · 16/01/2013 22:35

I wouldn't be arranging a date with this chap - lots wrong in his life, none of it his fault, odd comments about your DD.

Monty27 · 16/01/2013 22:37

He sounds a bit mysoginistic saying that about little girls.

superstarheartbreaker · 16/01/2013 22:39

Well I say he seems good with kids. What I mean is that his main profile pic is of him holding his best mate's baby, plus he spends a lot of time with his god children. Hmmm. Could just be excessively broody; which I don't want anyway as I don't want to have kids again just yet. He'd want to knock me up in 6 months.

Beamur · 16/01/2013 22:44

I think I'd call that weirdly interested in other people's kids....but at least he's upfront about wanting a family, although if that's not your bag then why even start something?

Helltotheno · 16/01/2013 22:47

To be honest I don't understand how you could even be talking about your DD to a complete stranger on the internet. That's just as weird to me.. sorry.

Monty27 · 16/01/2013 22:51

Super the fact that you're even thinking about his need for a family spouts loads of red flags to me.

I wouldn't entertain him tbh. You have even met him Shock

zippey · 16/01/2013 22:54

Maybe he was just trying to make conversation? I dont think theres anything particularly odd about his comments in a wider context of a conversation.

izzyizin · 16/01/2013 22:58

Potential pedophile alert

What kind of guy posts a a pic of himself holding best mate's baby on his main profile on a dating site? Answers on a postcard to Scotland Yard.

'He seems good with kids'? How can you possibly form that opinion without observing his interaction with children?

You've already decided he's not a keeper and he's made 'weird', 'creepy' comments about your dd. Delete/defriend or do whatever you have to do to cease all contact with this character.

Btw, could be his dps aren't speaking to him because he owes them 30 grand for his last Court appearance.

superstarheartbreaker · 16/01/2013 22:59

You see I always mention that I have a dd to test the water. To see if there are nay odd comments and also to be upfront in case someone dosn't want to date a mum. Each to their own though and I do understand those that find it wierd that I mention I'm a mum.

OP posts:
DrGoogleWillSeeYouNow · 16/01/2013 23:00

I don't see anything off in his comments but I too am wondering why you're going beyond anything other than "I have a child/children" in conversation with a total stranger on the Internet.

Helltotheno · 16/01/2013 23:00

I don't think it's weird that you mention in passing that you're a mum.

superstarheartbreaker · 16/01/2013 23:01

Like I said each to their own and there is a bit on the profile that says : "Do you have children?"

AnyFucker · 16/01/2013 23:02

Are you still going to meet him ? I wouldn't.

Wishfulmakeupping · 16/01/2013 23:08

Agree with anyfucker
Avoid

Branleuse · 16/01/2013 23:11

it would put me off

ladyWordy · 16/01/2013 23:13

I?d say he wants to know how long your daughter?s hair is.
That he thinks all little girls are beautiful, until they grow up.

That?s what he said. So? don?t assume he didn?t mean it, or that it was a joke, just because he laughed. I would take that at face value and use your powers of deduction :(

Also, people who are owed £30k and just ?don?t talk? to the person who owes it are unlikely to be telling the truth. I rather favour izzy?s interpretation...

superstarheartbreaker · 16/01/2013 23:19

No I'm not going to meet him. I will follow my intuition for a change.

badinage · 16/01/2013 23:21

Is this a different one to the one you have noisy sex with and piss off the neighbours?

FFS where's you radar about blokes that you have to start thread after thread about your love life?

Would I consider these comments a bit odd?

Isn't it stark staringly obvious???

AnyFucker · 16/01/2013 23:24

Ah, the caterwauling shagger. Lovely.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 16/01/2013 23:24

OP I think I know what site you are on. I was on it briefly years ago.

One man seemed off. There were no comments or anything concrete but I was definately uneasy.

He was in the paper as a registered sex offender. I still dont know why they printed so many details about him, but they did.

Trust your instinct.

countrykitten · 16/01/2013 23:30

And you even entertained for a second actually meeting this man in rl? Imo you may well be putting your dd at risk if you did so - don't.

superstarheartbreaker · 16/01/2013 23:36

heres where the bullies congregate. i'm dating around. never mind. worse happened at sea. and no i'm not going to meet him. now i'm off to do some more caterwauling shagging...with a rampant rabbit this time! classy i know!
