Just wondering what kinds of things you've done recently for your partner to show them you love them...

What is it with men 'cleaning' the bathroom with loo roll?! Which disintegrates and sticks to the basin! Bleugh!

Little kind things. I get breakfast in bed when we are off work and DH gets up early to make me breakkie during week before I go to work as I have a longer commute than him. I bring him cups of tea when he's working madly and shower him with affection :o

LapOfTheGods · 12/04/2012 21:40

angelico its true! It does disintegrate and stick everywhere! That's not really cleaning in my book but nevermind it did take him 3 hours hard graft :)

I know, and bless them, they are so willing and so helpless :o

LapOfTheGods · 12/04/2012 21:54

Have to say it's refreshing to hear so many experiences of women who are happy to give their partner the things they enjoy and receive what they enjoy in return. Sometimes, mn feels a bit like a war between the sexes. Men and women are generally different but there is a compromise in meeting esbotjers desires to keep the magic going.

Each others, not that strange word my phone conjured.

DP brings me tea in bed.

He also supplies chocolate.

Tells me I'm gorgeous and sexy and makes it clear he wants me (which I had problems accepting but I'm getting used to)

I spent last night looking for clothes/sheets that could help his eczema.

Two way street.

LapOfTheGods · 12/04/2012 22:06

I've been sending oh more photos of ds during the day, as I know he misses him. Not loads... That sounded weird! But you know little snippets of new things he's doing.

My DH told the kids today that when he first saw me (10 years ago on a dance floor), the music seemed to stop and the crowds faded away and a huge spotlight came down on me dancing away, and all the Hallelujah angels were singing, lol. Our DD (8) said, "Really?! Cool!"
I'll love him forever for that :)

hathorinareddress69 · 12/04/2012 22:26

Awhhhh that's so sweet.

Apparently DP used to perv at my arse over the photocopier. A million years ago.

Which doesn't quite have the same ring, I will admit. Grin

Winkly · 12/04/2012 22:35

hathorinareddress69 I was quite flattered this week when DH told me he was taking photos from the camera & putting them onto the computer and stopped to have a good perv at my boobs in a low-ish dress I was wearing Grin

I like these threads, it makes me appreciate DH more. He does lots of nice things for me too. He hates football with a fiery passion; the first time he met my nephew (then 2 and a half) he was out in the garden in goal about a minute later.

Beamur · 12/04/2012 22:37

I make him a jam sandwich most evenings.

Ktmacca4 · 12/04/2012 22:43

My DH also told me recently that the first time he kissed me (on his doorstep) he did a little 'I've scored a goal' kinda dance when I walked away. Awwww

CurrySpice · 12/04/2012 22:44

Right at the top of the thread, Warren even though that's not her fucking name said:

"Mostly though we just show it by being nice to each other most of the time and trying to make the others life easier."

Yes - that's it!

There are lots of other little things he does all the time but that's the crux. he is quite simple the most marvellous man on earth :o

LapOfTheGods · 12/04/2012 22:48

Makes me appreciate oh more too.

Make lasagne

Order Ben & Jerrys in the food shopping

Bake a cake

His face when he smells the lasagna is a picture though

Babylon1 · 12/04/2012 22:50

I give him free reign of my paypal account along with my eBay account!!
Make sure there's sailor jerry rum in the fridge when he's had s long day at work.
Run him a bath, and his bestest favourite is when I wash his hair for him - I can literally make his eyes roll Wink Grin

winetime · 12/04/2012 22:54

I would like to be the person who drives her DH to the airport - often I would like to drive my DH to an airport!

Love him to bits really..

He would probably love to drive me to an airport too (then he'd remember the 4 DCs and drive me back again!)

Winkly · 12/04/2012 23:03

Oh I feign interest in DH's spanner collection. I think that qualifies me for some kind of trophy Grin

Vajazzler · 13/04/2012 06:53

I bought him a set of sundae spoons (tea spoons with extra long handles) after he moaned that he kept burning his fingers when stirring the tea in his travel mug.

mumof4sons · 13/04/2012 16:09

I let my stbexH take part in the Fastnet yacht race. I thought it would be an opportunity of a lifetime for him.

It was. He started an affair with one of the other crew on the yacht, hence he is now STBexH.

KatieScarlett2833 · 13/04/2012 16:16

I did the obligatory parental birthday visit alone so he doesn't have to go out again once he comes home.

He will still do the food shop on the way home and cook dinner like everyday though.

I'm all heart.

Panamama · 13/04/2012 16:24

Told him we had nothing to eat in the house so we'd be having some boring meal or other, then surprised him by making his favourite dish and getting a couple of bottles of nice ale in. I do this one occasionally.

The last thing he did was steal the food list and go shopping for all of the stuff we'd need for the next week. I was majorly irritated at how late he was that night until I realised that he'd done it so I wouldn't need to spend my morning off (the next day) at the shops. Blush

Surprises are lovely really, even if it's just a chocolate bar or something. Makes us look at each other in a different way somehow.

DustyDen · 13/04/2012 16:50

Cups of tea.

GinPalace · 13/04/2012 16:58

I made him a trifle for no particular reason even though I don't like it myself. I also put my tea bags in the bin instead of collecting them in a pile and binning them later cos it gets on his nerves otherwise and he has a point.

I hug him when he is grumpy and say thanks when he does little things.

He shows me he loves me too. :)

Feel all soppy now.

pregnantpause · 13/04/2012 17:02

My dh checks my meal plan before buying meat to make sure he's not straying from it.

He tidies the toys away and makes a cuppa at the end of the day.

I man the house/dcs whilst he enjoys 30 min showers uninterupted.

I make stew (bleurgh!)

I record the new season of glee because altgough I hate it and he doesn't know its started I know he'd be disappointed if he missed it.
