That's it really. Need a nice alternative to the word "Babe" when used affectionately.

Ta!

We usually go for whatever is the most nauseating thing we can come up with. Examples:

Snugglepuss
Honeysnuggles
Cuddlebear
Honeybaby
Manlysnuggle

DP calls me pie - he does it in public which got us a few funny looks when I was in hospital having DS recently!

I call him jack, as in "I'll never let go jack" from titanic - even though we both hate the film it stuck!

we`re both babe here, bit boring. The kids are Puds & Paz.
My cousin and her husband call each other Boggin & Mingin.
Another friend calls her girlfriend Doll Face which I kind of like but she hates it :)

eslteacher · 11/09/2011 22:14

"Dear", "darling" and "my love" get used a lot between us, all with a healthily ironic intonation.

mo3d · 11/09/2011 22:19

My dad used to call my mum 'crab chops' and she called him 'fish face'! They're still married after 45 years.

My H and I sometimes use 'bub'. At least there's no fishy connection!! Grin

Just remembered - used to go out with someone who insisted on calling me Pidgeon - shortened to 'Pidg Pidg' after a while.

No idea why, can't recall randomly accosting strangers for crumbs of their lunch, pecking at cigarette butts on the pavement or 's***ing on him from a great height.

Although with hindsight, I should have done. Amen.

fargate.... the kids call me 'the boss' Grin

Apart from non verbal ds2 but if asked 'who's the boss?' he knows to answer 'Mama, mo Dada' (mo is his word for no/not)

clam · 11/09/2011 23:39

I'm "old witch," he's "grumpy old git."

startail · 12/09/2011 00:35

I'd just like my name, or on of the many possible variations on my nn, which would out me so I can't tell you.
But not one of DHs great collection of slightly sexist terms of endearment that drive me insane

MrsJasonBourne · 12/09/2011 23:47

Oh and pumpkinny-wumpkinny when we've been watching Blackadder.

GrimmaTheNome · 13/09/2011 00:03

Several decades ago, I seem to remember 'pook'.
Nowadays I sometimes call DH 'honey'.

He tends to use my name... occasionally lapses into 'mummy' when DD isn't around, and (obviously) gets his head bitten off. Grin

BustersOfDoom · 13/09/2011 00:05

He is Bloke and I am Bird. Depending on the situation we often use different prefixes such as: sexy, stinky, useless, fat, lazy, lovely, cuddly etc etc

We have been together a looooooong time!

ripstheirthroatoutliveupstairs · 13/09/2011 09:01

DH is either his name, mush or mate. He calls me love or lovey.
