Love Spoons 1

Love Spoons 2

There's an excellent chance that you'll not get it in time, but just tell a little fib, and say that you ordered it ages ago, and was hoping that it was going to have arrived by now (Friday, obv.)

There are, I imagine, plenty of other sites, but these are the ones I used for my 5th w.a. gift to my husband nearly 9 years ago Shock

squeakytoy · 16/03/2011 21:00

what sort of things does he like?

Maelstrom · 16/03/2011 21:07

I really don't understand that thing of paper, wood and diamonds.

But if I were a man, and I had to go through the wood stuff I much rather not receive a wooden ornament... how about a weekend in the woods or something of the sort Grin

I'm sure I have seen a lovely log cabin in the middle of nowhere (woods), sadly... it didn't come cheap...

But agree with BlackHole, think outside the box.

krisskross · 16/03/2011 21:08

thanks all - espec for the link- thats a possibility- any other suggestions....?

Cricket bat?

That thing where you go up on ten trees- go ape. Do it together. Tnat will test tne marriage

PorkChopSter · 16/03/2011 21:15

Ukelele? Photo frame?

Or alternatively, get yourself some nice undies, do a striptease and "give him wood" Grin

LtEveDallas · 16/03/2011 21:17

QueeferSutherland · 16/03/2011 21:19

Chess board?

Arf, Porkchop.

Meow75 · 16/03/2011 21:22

"it is pretty but I can't imagine dh want g one from choice."

Thanks for dismissing my gift choices for my husband without even knowing him. 'Preciate it!! Shock

To be clear, I READ the OP, which said there was a BUDGET. The wooden love spoons are INEXPENSIVE. Can't believe I'm explaining myself to a third party when all I was doing was responding to a GENERAL query.

OP, you are welcome. Ours is on the living room wall, hanging underneath the x-stitch that my M-i-L made. The site I went to also personalised it, I think they use something a bit like a cauterising tool/soldering iron sorta thing to burn the text into the wood.

And congratulations on your w.a. Wine

QueeferSutherland · 16/03/2011 21:28

Is he young & trendy?

Does he like cooking? A good chopping board?

TeeBee · 17/03/2011 10:16

How about a tree to plant in the garden? Or a wooden sign for the house? Gardening tools? Magazien subscription? A book?

Although the traditional theme for a 5th anniversary, the contemporary theme is silverware - not sure that helps.

Or you could give him a hard on...

Rhian82 · 17/03/2011 10:30

My parents gave us a little bay tree in a nice wooden planter thing, with the date of our wedding on it. Bay tree leaves are useful for cooking!

(less good if you do the cooking, but my DH does, so would also have been a good present from me to him)

silverfrog · 17/03/2011 10:34

chopping board, photo frame, nice box/tray/dish to keep loose change/keys/cufflinks in?

I think I got dh a new blotter (old fogey emoticon) but it was while ago, so don't actually remember Blush

madonnawhore · 17/03/2011 10:34

You want to give him wood...?

I can think of a few ways you can make that happen :)

MooMooFarm · 17/03/2011 10:36

Sorry if this offends anyone but when it was our 5th I just made DH a bottle of wine and a gift voucher promising to give him 'wood' later that night Blush

MooMooFarm · 17/03/2011 10:36

Ha x posted Madonna!

MooMooFarm · 17/03/2011 10:40

Didn't 'make' the wine btw Blush

JessicaDrew · 17/03/2011 10:48

something made from willow or cane Wink

MaybeTomorrow · 17/03/2011 10:49

They do gorgeous wooden photo frames that can be engraved.

I got them for my bridesmaids as gifts at our wedding.

Ooooh, timing could be an issue though - sorry, probably no help at all!
