He came over all shy!!!!!

I was so surprised! It doesnt help that hes the only man Ive been with, Ive only done this for him a couple of times before and I myself was feeling really shy. When he walked in he probably got the shock of his life because I was sat on the bed in all my lacy, satinny, high heel glory Grin His eyes popped out, and then he grinned but he was blushing like mad and I could tell he was very shy. Im not the first woman hes been with, and we've been together seven years now, so his shyness threw me! Things progressed though, and I can tell you that he wasn't shy for much long after Grin

So what I wanted to know was this: Firstly, what do you DO when you dress up for your DH/DP ? How do you approach him, and what do you say/do??!

And secondly, how does your DH react when you dress up like this? Is shyness normal in men of 33 years old ?????

years and years ago a work collegue of my mums got all dressed up in her wedding dress and sat waiting for DH. A friend called round who came in and stayed for a bit. When her DH finally arrived he said absolutely nothing about her attire and chatted away to the friend. She felt a complete idiot sat there like Miss Haversham.

to make you feel better, i once collected DP from the train station wearing long coat, under neath hold ups and basque etc.

Im sure he loved it :)

kaiserfootmuff · 25/11/2010 17:51

blimey i would be beetroot red if i did that. i'd be the one that was shy

merrywidow · 25/11/2010 17:52

I do an interesting strip out of jimjams for my DP.

highheelsandlace · 25/11/2010 18:00
Hmm

Reality, Im not after a wank over your DH's reaction, thank you very much Hmm

And its obvious what follows after dressing up in such a way. What I asked about was initial reactions.

My DH is defo not shy when I do things like that. Grin

Its sweet that your Dh reacted like that.

cowboylover · 25/11/2010 19:08

At least he reacted!

I suprised my DH but didnt realise that his Bro was on his way down to pick him up so then sent him into a panic of what to di LOL

I have been with my DH 9 years and have shy moments sometimes and way to swing from the chandleers others!

SlightlyJaded · 25/11/2010 20:05

I haven't 'surprised' my DH for a while [guilt emoticon] but his reaction used to be an instant switch from whatever mood he was in to 'sex mode' - that's the best way I can describe it. As in 'well up for it'

HOWEVER, the way things have been the past few months: overworked, general exhaustion, both run ragged by DCs, I would honestly expect his response to be

"budge out of the way love, I'm watching the news"

or possibly

"Is that lot new? How much did you spend?"

So I'm probably not the best person to ask :)

Although I may be doing DH a dis-service here, perhaps I ought to 'check' and report back.

DevonshireCat · 25/11/2010 21:11

So the flip side (and not to pander to those mentioned by highheelsandlace), what's the best way for a chap to return the favour and surprise his DP?

Anniegetyourgun · 25/11/2010 21:11

Years ago I celebrated a successful post-baby weight loss by buying some very reasonably priced dove-grey satin underwear. I donned them at home and posed before DH. His response was to break into loud, derisive laughter. I stripped the things off, threw them into the back of a drawer, climbed back into my heavy-duty jumbo undies and never, never attempted to look nice for him again. One of many reasons why he is now XH.

I didn't look that bad ffs, I used to have a figure in those days Angry

Anniegetyourgun · 25/11/2010 21:13

DevonshireCat, the only advice I can offer is, whatever you do or don't wear to impress DW, take your socks off first.

CrawlingInMySkin · 25/11/2010 21:21

Devonshirecat do not wear a leopard thong and growl when your DP walks in and get annoyed at her laughing Grin

DevonshireCat · 25/11/2010 21:27

...not even 'comedy' socks with Homer Simpson or Santa?!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 25/11/2010 21:29

Do not wear one of your DW's ponchos, even if it is a reference to an earlier incident...

2rebecca · 25/11/2010 21:30

I love my bloke in formal clothes. Unbuttoning his shirt, running my hand up the inside of his kilt, those are the things that turn me on. Skimpy underwear on a bloke doesn't do it for me.

KangarooCaught · 25/11/2010 21:43

Colleague often regales us with her mishaps. In the early days with her dh she came downstairs wearing nothing except stockings and a smile, only for dh to step aside to introduce her to his brother, a vicar. BIL married them and in his sermon said that she made an excellent first impression!

QueeferSantaland · 25/11/2010 21:49

I once (last world cup, not the SA one) dressed in skimpy but tasteful red & white undercrackers and draped an England flag overmyself on the bed when DH came in from work.

He said "I'm really hungry, I'm gonna get myself some food." and walked off.Angry

I haven't bothered since.Sad

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 25/11/2010 21:52

I wore an England see through vest and tiny see through shorts for dh (bought in M&S) and he leapt on me Grin

Because it showed I really cared .....being Scottish.
