Hypocrisy on MN

Been having a look at some of the threads on here....

There are some of you who seem to be tempted to have an affair - to put it bluntly, to fuck outside of your marriage/partnership and are asking for advice. Whatever that given advice may be, the desire, the temptation is still there.

Do you care to acknowledge that your SO may have similar thoughts....if he chooses to have an affair he may invest real emotion in the arrangement; alternately the other woman may become a bit of a 'bunny boiler'.

All a man is doing in seeing a prostitute is yielding to the same temptations that women also are vulnerable to, but ensuring that there is NO threat to the status quo of their marriage.

Prostitution SAVES marriages

This is the second time I'm asking escortKarin to respond to my post at 23:00.

Ah...got you thumbwitch. Grin

HappyWithLife · 14/11/2010 00:42

Well, it's way past my bedtime so I'll no doubt catch up with this tomorrow. Night all.

differentnameforthis · 14/11/2010 02:37

not one of which has responded to the point I made

Sorry, what was the point you made? Hmm

LynetteScavo · 14/11/2010 11:38

I think it's interesting that on many threads on MN prostitutes are defended as victims, but when a prostitute, who is possibly a mother starts a thread defending her "profession", she's told to bugger off.

wukter · 14/11/2010 12:00

That would only be interesting Lynette if MN was one homogenous mass when really it's a few thousand individuals with a few thousand opinions.

A few people have responded /challenged the OP who is not interested in defending his/her position at all, that leads me to conclude it's someone stirring. But that's just my opinion, there'll be plenty others.

FWIW - I could probably forgive an affiar, if there was remorse and a desire to work through things. However, if I found out my DH was using prostitues I would leave him in a heartbeat.

I couldn't be with a man who would be willing to sleep with a woman who probably doesn't fancy him and may even find the whole process revolting. If he was the type of person who was willing to oblige his body onto someone else whether they liked it or not he would be gone.

Maybe some prostitutes do "save" marriages in the same way other people have said that their affair has "saved" a marriage (personally think this is bollocks though) but I think the type of people who have affairs are entirely differnt from the disgusting and wholly selfish men who use prostitues.

HappyWithLife · 14/11/2010 15:14

Vixen...I agree wholeheartedly. An affair can happen; as painful as that inevitably is, and as difficult to work through, but a man who uses prostitutes has actively sought out the act of deception and that I would find unforgiveable.

AnotherMumOnHere · 14/11/2010 15:31

Looking from outside the square I do not see any difference from having an affair and visiting a prostitute.

Don't get me wrong I am not supporting either.

The way I see it that having an affair and visiting a prostitute are both an act of deception.

From the female perspective, when a guy has an affair he more than not will be paying a lot more for the 'pleasure' of being with the 'lady' ie as in meals out etc but when visiting a prostitute he will only be paying for the 'visit'.

Both are acts of deception and neither is worse than the other. Could I forgive either, I dont think so, but then I hope I never find myself in that position.

vixen1 · 14/11/2010 16:18

NotherMumOnHere - I see what you're saying but don't you think that visiting a prostitue is slightly different given that these men are choosing to have sexual acts performed on them by someone who quite possibly finds them (the person) revolting?

The thought of forcing a man to have sex with me because I'm paying is quite abhorrent in my mind. The thought of me having an affiar is out of the question also but at least if I did then it would be because the other party also found me attractive...

HappyWithLife · 14/11/2010 16:32

NoOther....yes it is an act of deception on both counts, but an affair is not usually sought, it is something which grows out of attarction/affection/liking and yes..of course lust. I am not condoning affairs. I have been cheated on and it ended my marriage. But a man who seeks a prostitute is on a much lower level than a man who has an affair IMO. Both deal breakers but in different leagues. Most people don't set out to have an affair, but prostitution is something which is deliberate.

HappyWithLife · 14/11/2010 16:36

My objection to this and the other thread is that some members were coming down on the escorts and prostitutes who posted like a pack of wild animals...the girls who do this do not go out and seduce the man, it is the man who goes looking for it and is therefore the one who should be the subject of people's anger and disgust. It is unecessary to eff and blind and name call.

hannah459 · 15/11/2010 22:20

Stumbled upon this thread and tend to agree with the last poster - why are the women to blame?

TheFoosa · 16/11/2010 09:24

wow I lead such a sheltered life

LynetteScavo · 16/11/2010 16:55

What's it like, Foosa?...I daren't look.

What happened to the OP?

HappyWithLife · 16/11/2010 17:25

Echt...that's lovely, really charming. How to show yourself up in four letters.

emmyloulou · 16/11/2010 17:47

I'd imagine he didn't realise people would click he was a bloke or a punternet client so quickly.

Inflammatory post, with no back up content, on a sensitive forum, never to return, who'd have thought it Hmm

AnotherMumOnHere · 16/11/2010 21:27

Deception #1 Situ = Guy takes out a female for a meal. Yes he most likely is attracted to female but perhaps he was just hoping for a leg over at the end of the night (does this not sound like many dates people have).

Deception #2 Situ = Guys goes to visit female who is escort/hooker/prostitute. Now he knows he is going to get a leg over during his visit. He may be attracted to the female or he may not be.

In my eyes both are acts of deception and are on an even par. Infact meal etc may cost more so ....................

Im not agreeing with OP but an affair is no worse than visiting the escort/hooker/prostitute. Affair may cost more and go on for longer.

And No, I'm not a man and I'm not from Punternet, its just another females POV so do I get told to FO too. Such charming language ladies.

HappyWithLife · 16/11/2010 21:45

I'm certainly not going to tell you to do one AnotherMum...surely that's one of the purposes of MN, to have a varied and rich discussion on all sorts of topics. Which is why I am so disgusted by the wild dog mentality of some of the posters. Everybody should be able to put their viewpoint across without being hounded for it, and the use of foul language just reduces it to the gutter.

OFFS · 16/11/2010 21:50

LynetteScavo, according to a post on a closed forum on PN, the OP (who is a woman, btw) has been banned from MN.

LynetteScavo · 16/11/2010 21:51

Oh, OK! I obviously missed all the fun there.

Or maybe MN towers don't like the wrong sort hhanging around. Wink
