All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you want to hear more from Markey, or other unusual views.

As for baked beans I love Tesco's Stockwell ones - really affordable and (to me) just good as any of the big brands.

Tom is so thick isn't he? On the one hand, he has his current team mates, all of whom are saying they weren't paid. On the other, he has two particularly talented ex team mates who suddenly buggered off at the same time. It's not hard to work out who was paid, is it?

I hope Pat and Tony will slap him about and tell him to pack in the hissy fits and play for the honour of Ambridge.

If the entire team has resigned, presumably they could set up Team Ambridge Mk 2 under another non-Ambridge name. Ideas please! But they would have to find somewhere else to practise.

I'll confess that despite living in the UK for over 15 years, I've still not tried beans on toast. It doesn't appeal! I like beans, real tomato sauce, and good bread - but that weird runny tomato sauce and the pale beans? No thanks (for now).

Don't worry, I've assimilated enough to agree with @LillianGish that mainland Europe (e.g. my well-meaning dad) serving a fast-cooling cup of water with a tea bag next to it is appalling.

Needless to say I've not applied for UK citizenship yet.

Pretty sure a proven love for beans on toast is the first test on the paper, @Agapornis!

I'm very surprised that Grey Gables, which is supposed to be an upmarket hotel, doesn't have exclusive use when there's a wedding taking place.
Every country house hotel type of wedding I've been to has had exclusive use, precisely so that guests and bride/groom don't encounter random other people wandering around.
Why would Dane have allowed the village show to take place on the same day, it's just ridiculous, surely would never happen in real life. Did the bride and groom know beforehand I wonder? I would have been livid if a village show has been taking place at my wedding venue.

Must have been one of those MN CF weddings where guests are left without food for hours and hours, while the couple fuck off to take photos.

Nah, I've encountered a similar situation, twice: an equestrian event taking place in the grounds of the venue at the same time as the wedding. That's how my pony made aquaintance with the concept of a pipe band. He didn't like it: jumped out of his corral, and was then found trotting in large excited circles at the opposite end of the field.
