Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that, or other unusual views.

David didn't make the decision, as far as I heard; he failed to make it. So The Bull being firebombed can't the be the far reaching result of a decision of David's.

Naomi overheard him talking about open farm Sunday so maybe she will firebomb brookfield

if Darren is firebombing he would have nothing against David and target the pub

so agree - maybe Naomi is part of Rochelle’s cult

But if Darren recognises Dave from all the coverage of the Abattoir incident and Darren attacks him, that would be okay. Not as good as Dave being killed by Jethro's great-grandson with a tree, but okay.

The only problem with killing off archers is that it leaves more airtime for the Rochelle’s and Dane’s of the world

Maybe Darren will firebomb a barn where Rochelle, mick, Dane and Joy are all having a secret meeting. That's about as realistic as a plot we've had lately.

I'm fully expecting Naomi and Darren to become permanent characters now.

My standards may have slipped as I enjoyed tonight!! Mostly familiar voices apart from naomi...but was pleased to have an episode in the bull with chat starting on open farm day!

What did David actually do? I missed it.

He just didn't know about the ask for Angela initiative

He was serving behind the bar to help out. Naomi came to the bar and asked if Angela was working tonight, and David said, no, no one of that name, and she said, no, I'm asking for Angela, and he had no idea what she was on about. And then Lilian and Kenton were talking about the couple in the corner, to keep an eye, and David said, yeah, that woman was a bit odd, asking for someone called Angela, and do it was that Lilian swept in to save the day...

When the (very widely publicised, and David runs public events quite frequently, and caters stuff in that barn) 'ask for Angela' formula was used he stood there like a pudden denying all knowledge of anyone called Angela. To think that people on the BBC were boards were once asked to stop calling him Dopey.

Darren was obviously a sinister wrongun, he talks about bitcoin and plays 5-a-side some game or other.

It's probably a good thing Dopey Dave didn't know what it meant, or he'd have been over at the table threatening the bloke at the top of his voice ... at the very least!

That’s what I thought. If you are out of earshot then you can just ask for help. And if you are in earshot then they will know what you are doing anyway

Ben Archer (the brother of Dan Archer, full name John Benjamin Archer) emigrated to Canada and married there. So definitely not a local girl!

The current Ben Archer is not as far as I know paired up with Beth, so it doesn't matter where they met. Ditto Helen and Lee.

actually I know what I did, I mentioned what Darren talked about that was off-putting, and it's a thing that Mumsnet very sensibly does not encourage our posting about, and I'm sorry for wasting the moderators' time. It's all the fault of the TA SWs.
