Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd be happy sharing a hot tub with Mucky Mick, or other unusual views.

Spoilers: not on this thread, please! The title started life with @JanglyBeads, whose autocorrect turned 'Oh no, nor do I!' into 'Oh no, nododo I!' on the last thread. For reasons of cowardice/prudence/lack of inspiration and the character limit, I haven't included @BeaLola's even more mysterious autocorrect - her phone had her asking Abdul if he'd always wanted children instead of Neil. Perhaps one of the mooted beavers can be Abdul.

For the first time ever I've added a poll to the OP. Over to you!

I hope no one who is still active will be dedded. I would be sad to lose Neil, despite his sudden and ridiculous new history as Master Bun the Baker's Son (hopefully careless non-research on the part of the SW rather than a sign of dementia). Conversely, I think they're well overdue in killing off some of the now silent characters. Peggy and Aunty Chris should be long gone.

oh guess who hadn't read the OP, sorry! I often forget that not all of it is C&P'd (even more cred to @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g !)

Also, why on earth did they have to write Henry not only being his usual incredibly (!) mature self re the disappointment of Lee buggering off overseas, but then immediately writing a master marketing plan, thus proving that he is The Future of Bridge Farm and must therefore occupy the farmhouse asap? I mean, couldn't they have left that until at least tomorrow, and had him play some Mario Brothers with his little brother on his birthday?

Adding to the cute puppy photo and talk of beloved teddies on the last thread I add this photo of a crocheted ferret (what else have I to do at 4 o' clock in the morning but scroll through photos of ferret knitting patterns!)

It must have taken Clarrie a while to knit 20 ferrets for the goody bags and all with initialled sweaters.

I want a puppy, a knitted ferret and a strawberry liqueur but I am trying to do "no unnecessary spending in 2025" and it's only Day 3, so I'll try to resist temptation for at least a few more days.

Yes. It doesn’t take that long to monogram a ferret. Maybe Clarrie will branch out into beavers this year.

Wouldn't it have been "easier" for Joy to keep an eye on Rochelle by going to Rex's party rather than being at home wondering what she had said/got up to.

I think Joy is a ‘life and soul’ type and she probably worried people would notice she was being more reserved.

I actually think she’s a very self centred person!!

It was hard to believe no one has ever thought of loyalty cards for Bridge Farm shop. Natasha must have suggested them when she first joined the empire. The marketing master plan was literally what it appeared to be- very basic marketing plans dreamt up on the back of an envelope by a teenager. It was the reactions of H, P and T that were astonishing.

Lee’s reappearance confirmed that I have not missed him. I am glad H kicked him to the kerb.

Can Lee take Helen to SF with him please?
