Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads.

All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd have been delighted with a hand-painted squirrel tray for your 40th, as shown below, or other unusual views.

All I have to say about current storylines for now is that I want the George Alice crash stuff to come to a resolution, sooner rather than later, and I also want to hear very little indeed of Alistair, Denise and Paul maundering on. More of Jakob would be very welcome. His brother can come back any time too.

He's extremely boring and such a limp lettuce. That was a terrible episode.

I think they brought Cloyve back so they could retell all Susan’s history and the impact it had on Emma etc. Oblique references wasn’t going to cut it so bringing him back is simply a way to highlight the whole backstory.

I thought Bert might have died in his chair during Cloyve’s visit but he seemed alive enough to climb the stairs up to bed.

I thought George wanting to spend time with Brad and realising he was jealous of him was quite poignant. He knows he's cocked it all up now.

Yes that was. It was still a terrible episode. They have to bring this to a head.

I thought later on in the episode he said he was going to uni then coming back to Ambridge. So there’s still hope it’s not Felpersham.

So George knew Uncle Clive put his (nan?) in prison and still called him anyway?

I hoped Bert might have died; it would be a good way to move that storyline on.

Bert sleeps downstairs in the room Neil adapted for him (from the old dining-room), which is complete with en suite shower and lavatory.

She was said by Will (on Friday 16th) to have got results good enough to get her into her first choice uni, Newcastle. That was the conversation in which George said Brad had got four A*s.

Thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime - I wonder if (a) that's where she'll go and (b) if she's told Brad ... while he, assuming she'll stay at home, has Horrobinised his future.

Thanks for the Horchata links, chapesses. My thought on this is that it would probably be cheaper to take an empty suitcase on a Ryanair flight to Girona, a bus into town, a quick trip to the supermarket and a same-day return. In fact, if I got a friend to shop for me and drive the loot to the airport ...

I will take with a pinch of salt advice from someone who describes a sedge as an "easy to grow grass" (Sedges and grasses are two different plant families).

Clive is too cartoony to be chilling.

A sedge wren is not the same as a sedge warbler.

Geowurge was cartoonish when we first heard him.

I wouldnt be surprised if Uncle Clive tries to weedle hisself into moving in with Tracy and family because his dad insists. Hope Jazzer gives him what for.
Its nice to have a baddie again but annoying that only a few people can see Clive as one at the moment, bet he dosnt give George the popcorn money. Hope this story line hurrys up Im sure they are losing listerners because of it.
I hope Clive gets chased out of town, George gets put inside when the truth comes out, and Alistair sees that Denise is not who he thought she was and ends up with the other woman and Sassie Cassie 🥱
Oh and Stella gives Pip the elbow and Lil gets rid of Justin, maybe he has a heart attack and snuffs it and leaves every thing to Aunty Lillian, and Brian gets rid of whatever her name is and Mia goes to Uni and meets someone else and Chelsea has her adenoids removed.
Harrison has a one night stand after a big row with Fallon and ends up being a father which is what he wanted and Carlotta speaks just to say goodbye.

I think I’d prefer it if the adenoids had Chelsea removed. They could be silents, in a little jar of formalin.
