How to Fail - cannot take the fawning anymore!

Is it just me, or has the fawning and sycophancy gone completely off the scale? I've listened to this podcast since it started and used to really enjoy it. It's an interesting premise, and Elizabeth Day used to be a really good interviewer. And I get it - she's asking people to share very vulnerable stuff so wants to keep everything safe and 'nice'. Fine

God save us though, I've just finished listening to the live episode with Caitlin Moran, and it LITERALLY ended with 'YOU'RE amazing!', 'no, YOU'RE amazing!' giggle giggle giggle giggle. Absolute vomit.

Do you listen, and do you struggle with all this malarkey too?

The early episodes of HTF are worth listening too, I found the one with Nadia Hussain really moving when she talked about her self confidence issues.

I've unsubscribed from HTF now, I can't bear the fawning anymore.

Agree @CaveMum I just relistened to the Andrew Scott one after seeing All of Us Strangers, and it was so good.

That's one of my favorite ever episodes. He was so lovely. Gina Miller was also brilliant, you got to hear a completely different side to her

I'm sure ED didn't used to be quite so gushy and unbearable

For those of you who listen to Best Friend Therapy, have you ever listened to Tanya Byron and Claudia Winkleman called "How Did We Get Here"?

I much prefer that podcast. Elizabeth Day spends most of her time telling her friend what a great friend she is - so bloody irritating.

Yes! Just got into this a couple of weeks ago and it's really addictive. Tanya is so brilliant - very compassionate but straight talking and practical too. There's a lot less fawning than there is in BFT
