Archers Thanks due to @PseudoBadger for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads and to @DadDadDad for being our resident statistician and keeping the ball rolling when Pseudo stepped back a bit. Thanks also to all those who contributed to the thread title, principally Dumdedumdedum and MikeUniformMike on this occasion.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to be Susan's best friend or other odd unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please. We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from this thread, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

So, to business: will Helen's new cheese be a success? Will Kate succeed in keeping her visiting Brummies under control? Will Pip, Toby, Tom and Natasha fall into the slurry pit, leaving Rosie to be brought up by Anthony Head Robin Fairbrother? Will we ever hear Lee again, and will he casually drop in a mention of his fine collection of framed Bruce Lee posters? Grin

Just to say, CMR made it to the sand-pit!

To be fair there are quite a few disabilities and chronic illness in TA, it's just that they are all magically cured or forgotten about.

Till it's convenient to revive them, e.g. Helen's anorexia, Lizzie's heart problems.

Taswama · 21/04/2019 12:34

Listening to the film this morning (having heard the individual episodes already) I’d like to give a Boop to Lily for the scene with Freddie where she explains how important her job is to her.

LassOfFyvie · 21/04/2019 19:10

There's been an incident at the ha- ha !!

Ha ha !!

LassOfFyvie · 21/04/2019 19:18

will the Easter Bunny save Lower Loxley's bacon, or will there be egg on Russ's face?

How prophetic.

DadDadDad · 21/04/2019 19:45

@LassOfFyvie - you may be interested in this road, not far from where I grew up: Ha Ha Road, London

So Russ was stung in the unmentionables? Oh dear. Grin

Natasha and Trevor having lunch. Hmm. Will Tom and Natasha still be an item by the end of the week?

OP posts:
MikeUniformMike · 21/04/2019 19:56

God knows but she's hard work. Kirsty karma.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 21/04/2019 20:13

I hope Trevor tells Natasha he's never been happier.

DadDadDad · 21/04/2019 20:50

I hope Trevor tells Natasha he's never been happier.

And then Natasha reports that comment back to Tom, and Tom innocently says "well, at least you were able to tell him the same thing... Natasha?..." Shock

echt · 21/04/2019 21:54

While the follies of marrying in haste are being acted out, I feel too much stuff is emerging too soon, almost as if there's need to a write Natasha out pretty quickly.

Thinking of the beautifully decorated crook? barn all done by volunteers?? The Eggstravagnza is part of LL's income stream, so rather shameful that Elizabeth is making money out of free labour.

LassOfFyvie · 21/04/2019 21:59

Much as I dislike CMR I thought the farce of the bee/ wasp sting in the ha-ha was unnecessary.

BertrandRussell · 21/04/2019 22:57

It was RIDICULOUS!!!!!!

ADarkandStormyKnight · 21/04/2019 23:21

There has been a fair bit of uncharacteristic innuendo - Jakob's organ, the carrot and now CMR. Odd!

BertrandRussell · 21/04/2019 23:24

Yes, the carrot/organ jokes are wierd

EBearhug · 22/04/2019 00:38

Yes, they could have just said a wasp got in his costume and stung him.

campion · 22/04/2019 02:37

Tom is so obviously going to end up with Hannah (poor girl).

birdsdestiny · 22/04/2019 07:10

I assumed the organ joke was to illustrate Jacob's autism.

BertrandRussell · 22/04/2019 07:16

And I never imagined Kenton as short.....

LillianGish · 22/04/2019 07:41

Me neither Bert - in fact that comment just sounded wrong to me.

BuckingFrolics · 22/04/2019 08:06

Kenton certainly comes up short in reference to his brother.

Otherwise Kenton is 6 foot at least.

MsLucyHoneychurch · 22/04/2019 08:52

I always imagined Tom to be short and slight, not stocky but frail.

BertrandRussell · 22/04/2019 09:05

I think if Tom was slight or frail we would have heard about it from Jazzer before now when they’ve been shifting the arks around...,,l

GeorgeTheBleeder · 22/04/2019 09:13

It would have been so much more believable if they’d said that Kenton was too bulky to fit the costume, whereas Russ and Tom are skinny.

Quite discombobulating when they tell you something about a character that seems completely wrong.

notmuchmoretogive · 22/04/2019 09:19

As much as I dislike Tom and Natasha I feel the script writing is far too clunky, with the wheels falling off too quickly. Whilst I'm delighted things are going wrong it seems so unlikely to have gone from sickeningly dreamy to awful so fast.

Do you think Natasha has far greater debts and during divorce will try to fleece them for a large portion of bridge farm? The demise of the PatnTone empire may be down to Natasha.
