Brian is over a barrel, Alice has drained the barrel and Shula has given it to Alistair with both barrels - The Archers is not exactly a barrel of laughs at the moment.

Thanks to @LillianGish for the thread title.

I’ve just worked it out (folding 5 machines worth of clean clothes, got time on my hands).

Justin is going to lend the partnership the £££££ to fix this mess privately, in return for a lien on the farm. Lillian isn’t married to him so won’t get to keep it in the family in any way when he up sticks and takes HF with him. The whole “I love you too much to marry you” spiel was highly suspicious from the get go. I’m also sure there was a heavy hint some time ago from Justin about how it’s good to have people indebted to you, when he did Brian a favour re a BL board decision. He’s not being good to Brian out of the goodness of his heart.

Plus, if they can, they’re going to wing Matt Crawford into it somehow. The man has no interest in farming, but will win Lillian - and her family - back by saving the day and wrestling HF back from Justin.

You heard it here first!!

And what about the ferrets, they must have a room of their own.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 03/04/2018 18:01

I think Matt has had his day after screwing over Auntie Chris.*

Otherwise - flawless! JE definitely has his sights on Brian.

*though its possible he'll provide some information or expose JE's cunning plan.

AbsoluteGonk · 03/04/2018 18:03

Team Brian here! Was disgusted at Jenny siding with that weasel Adam. Kate and Lushlice are too incompetent to have a say in running the farm. Debbie should mind her own business as she's devoted to Hungarian farming now and Ruth can't get on her high horse seeing as she was responsible for bringing IBR to Ambridge.

Come on, Brian- fight back!

ADarkandStormyKnight · 03/04/2018 18:11

I think the best thing about the Archers is that (with notable exceptions) people are not pigeon-holed as 'good' or 'bad'. They have character strengths and flaws so we can find ourselves supporting different characters in different scenarios.

Obviously it's annoying when these predilections appear from nowhere!

FreezerBird · 03/04/2018 19:05

Eurgh Susan! This is going to end in chili isn't it?

newtlover · 03/04/2018 19:09

poor Neil, how much time will he actually get to spend with the pigs? will he face some profound ethical dilemma about their welfare?

Gruach · 03/04/2018 19:11

That office chair was clearly raising Susan’s temperature. Grin

TeenTimesTwo · 03/04/2018 19:12

I think Ed, Emma, George and Kira should move into Casa Mia (or whatever it is now called), allowing Clarrie to look after Will and Poppy & Jake & Mia). Crazy there is now a house standing empty.

Hate the wrap up of the Matt hit and run. How could they?

I would expect Jake & Mia to go and live with their Dad too.

MsBeauvoir · 03/04/2018 19:28

That scene with Will and Plod were very clunky

campion · 03/04/2018 19:39

Yes,TeenTimesTwo. I'm assuming Will doesn't have parental rights so how is he going to make important decisions about Jake and Mia?
Andrew is actually their father.

...and was the name change done properly when Nic and Will got married?

ADarkandStormyKnight · 03/04/2018 19:54

Will is now terrified Ed is going to spill the beans ... maybe he'll be a lot nicer to him from now on in case Ed grasses him up.

Davros · 03/04/2018 23:57

Doesn't Bartleby have his own room or does he have to share with the ferrets?

ppeatfruit · 04/04/2018 08:49

Yes Teen But the gamekeepers cottage IS the gamekeeper's cottage , it's tied. Ed n Emm are not gamekeepers…. but interestingly Ed is working for Home Farm now isn't he? !!

MsBeauvoir · 04/04/2018 08:57

Bartletby still has his penthouse suite at Grey Gables, but yes, he does share it with the ferrets and also with that donkey that randomly showed up a few months ago.

ppeatfruit · 04/04/2018 09:14

Not a donkey, a pony they called Gem, heard of quite recently, being taught to pull Joe's cart, who had been dumped "with others" in a local field , it's random but it does happen in the countryside.

MsBeauvoir · 04/04/2018 12:32

Ppeat I love that you picked me up for calling the pony a donkey, but not that they are living in a penthouse suite in Grey Gables Grin

ppeatfruit · 04/04/2018 13:17

Ahh well this is a surreal thread! Grin (ducks the flames) Grin

MsBeauvoir · 04/04/2018 17:39

Whatever his situation, I bet Bartleby's accommodation is more stable than the Grundys' has ever been.

Gruach · 04/04/2018 19:14

Don’t like Jenny lying to Lilian. Easter Sad

DoctorTwo · 04/04/2018 21:22

She had to, the truth would get straight to Justin.

Gosh that was a terrible episode. Ian and Adam are giving me the creeps and Helen is getting dimmer by the day (although Henwee is still 3)

A very sad, but sweet episode which showed several characters at their best.
