Ho ho ho! Will this thread last until Christmas?

OP posts:

So...
Knob was responsible for inflatable snowman, obv.

Phoebe will help Kate finish the costumes.

Kirsty is so upduffed.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/12/2016 19:44

Yes, yes, yes. How thick is Tom not to have thought of Rob? Hmm I bet Kirsty will make the connection.

TheMortificadosDragon · 21/12/2016 20:03

I missed the inflatable snowman thing - where was it?

R4 · 21/12/2016 20:15

I missed the inflatable snowman thing - where was it?

Right outside Henwee's window.

TheMortificadosDragon · 21/12/2016 20:30

Ah. BF needs their non-existent dog to bite it.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 21/12/2016 23:20

Agreed re Kirsty being upduffed.

I was wondering when Lynda had her tête-à-tête with Kirsty if Lynda was going to be one of those people who spot really early on when someone is pregnant.

Tube just gets worse.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 21/12/2016 23:21

Yup.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 21/12/2016 23:31

Yes Linda has always had a soft spot/insight into Kirsty - I reckon she's spotted pregnancy brain. But can it be possible Kirsty doesn't know yet?

TheAntiBoop · 21/12/2016 23:32

Kirsty wouldn't be turning down cheese and booze of she didn't know

DeepanKrispanEven · 21/12/2016 23:47

I do hope Helen went out and cut the snowman into little pieces before posting it back to Knob.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 21/12/2016 23:49

Sorry - duh!
It's just usually you get a bit of a lead in with these things - so if two characters are having an affair or whatever you are party to it. If she's 12 weeks or so she's known for bloody ages. I feel cheated ;-)

TheMortificadosDragon · 22/12/2016 00:05

They aren't having an affair - it was just a one night stand, in the over emotional wake of the trial.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 22/12/2016 00:09

I know - sorry confusingly I was using it as example - what I meant was that usually on soaps you get an early heads up on what's happening - traditionally before the other characters do - so a pregnancy, affair, bankruptcy, EA relationship etc etc - so to not find out until character is 12 weeks pregnant would be unusual.

Here am I taking like there are soap 'rules' !

Iwantacampervan · 22/12/2016 07:38

Did anyone watch Celebrity Mastermind last night ? I impressed myself with my Archers' knowledge!

GypsyFl0ss · 22/12/2016 07:53

Louiza Patakis is doing her pick of the year this weekend on R4 , which will include some HelRob stuff.

Gruach · 22/12/2016 08:20

Girlwhowearsglasses - But you're right - of course there are soap rules; and we wouldn't find soaps nearly so fascinating if we didn't instinctively recognise them. They have played an unusually long game with K.

mummytime · 22/12/2016 10:23

I think if Kirsty is pregnant they have been wonderfully subtle...
But also as the editor is about to change, the caretaker editor may have wanted to keep it subtle incase he didn't want the story line. It's better to have a surprise pregnancy - than to have to back track (or another miscarriage) storyline.

glowfrog · 22/12/2016 11:34

Maybe she's on a diet? Grin

TheMortificadosDragon · 22/12/2016 12:52

If Kirsty is pg, she might well want to keep it to herself until she's worked out what she wants to do. She wouldn't want to burden Helen with it, even if she wasn't Tom's sister.

polyhymnia · 22/12/2016 13:17

What did K actually refuse? And was it on more than one occasion?

DeepanKrispanEven · 22/12/2016 14:51

I think if Kirsty is pregnant they would normally have signalled it before now, with her having unexplained bouts of nausea or faintness or going off certain foods, rather as they did in Helen's case. However, more recent evidence suggests that something's up, which may suggest it's an idea which only occurred to the SWs well after she and Tom DTD or, as mummytime suggests, maybe they just want to keep their options open. I'd have thought Kirsty is an organised type who would be well aware as soon as she missed the first period.

R4 · 22/12/2016 15:43

What did K actually refuse? And was it on more than one occasion?

At Susan's Calendar Girls party she refused Camembert and alcohol. Last night she was very poor at remembering her lines despite being the first 'off book' about a week ago - this may have been embarrassment at expressing love for 'Colin' or it may have been baby-brain.

TheAntiBoop · 22/12/2016 16:38

Oh I hate the whole baby brain thing

I would have thought it more likely she was distracted by having an unexpected pregnancy

TheMortificadosDragon · 22/12/2016 18:15

Not everyone is regular, Deepan - 3 months was well within my 'normal'. And you do hear of women (maybe more often, girls) not realising they're pg till they go into labour.

PuppetInParadize · 22/12/2016 18:58

I think it's naice that they are being subtle re-K's probable pregnancy. And I shall be bitterly disappointed if she is not pg. Not everyone photographs the stick straight after the piss and puts a pic on social medya, and Kirsty is IMO the type who waits till she's sure about things before spreading the news, and not every pregnant woman pukes her way through the whole 9 months. In fact I was nauseous and very tired and went off coffee and puked only when I was in labour.
