No way would I have a 5 year old making a pyramid of jam jars (and the jam would be organic/local/expensive) especially when that 5 year old always sounds as though he is about 3 years old.
When will he spill the beans about boarding school and other "secrets" to Helen/Pat/Tony etc?
Also wondering whether I dreamt this, but did Helen leave a message for Ian when she was in a distressed state (after the rape??) and will Ian and Kirsty have a little chat at work and ...?

AbelMancwitch · 21/03/2016 11:28

This Henry boarding school palaver has to force something doesn't it? Surely Helen and Pat aren't going to sit back and let that go ahead? Angry

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2016 11:29

Lilymaid I think you fantasised that message Grin I don't remember it happening, of course I could have gone to sleep too. IT SHOULD HAVE!!!!

squeaver · 21/03/2016 11:32

It's absurd that Ian and Kirsty have not had a discussion about Helen.

The tea party on Thursday is obviously going to be when Henry talks about boarding school.

squeaver · 21/03/2016 11:48

I was waiting for the smash of the jam jar pyramid and Rob losing it in front of Pat. But it never came.

redshoeblueshoe · 21/03/2016 11:50

I hope Ursula shows her true colours - I could see her slapping Henwee.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/03/2016 11:56

As far as I can recall, Kirsty was still off the scene last summer, so if Helen called anybody in a distressed state it was probably Ian. Obviously it led to nothing in the end. She certainly didn't call him this time because they are not currently speaking. Sad

ppeatfruit · 21/03/2016 12:09

Pat really deserves the name PatBot if she thought Henwee was ok to build the pyramid of jam jars on his own (IIWM I'd have told off Knob for allowing it) Unless they were doing it together of course.

Putthetulipsthere · 21/03/2016 12:30

Dumdedum, I'm guessing SOC is trumpeting far and wide that his reign has been a success... YY - I so agree that it's not given the plot holes (no follow up to Stefan or fall out from Barrow Farm) unbelievable SL (most recently the boarding school cliche) & weak characterisation - most particularly in my opinion Pat Bot.

It really seems as if the knob/hell SL is approaching a conclusion to coincide with his departure.

BYOSnowman · 21/03/2016 12:35

Soc has done what you would expect from an eastenders type - put plot over character and read the public mood

Problem is that the archers was always strong in character so he has ultimately failed as he wasn't able to be successful within the parameters of the core structure

^^

For Gypsy and anyone else who cares: the last thread (the 48th) took us to 46,854 posts (so we average 976 posts per thread). The 50,000th post will come around 200 posts into the 52nd thread. So:

  • Within about a week - 50th thread starts
  • Mid-to-late April - 50,000th post
  • 24 April - 3rd anniversary of these threads

^^

NotdeadyetBOING · 21/03/2016 12:43

Wouldn't it be brilliant if Kirsty could install a hidden camera on her next secret visit to BHC?

Realise that would be absurd, clumsy plot device, but I hate the man so much I want everyone to see what he is really like. ARGH.

EmilyDickinson · 21/03/2016 12:53

I don't think that Rob will be able to keep the Mr Hyde side of him hidden for much longer. I suspect that Henry will blurt out the boarding school plan at the tea party and Helen will be unable to hide her shock and distress.

Thanks D^3 . You can get back to your paying job now Grin

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 21/03/2016 13:26

yep - I am reminded of my dd at 3 telling DP: 'Granny and Grandad have bought you a drill for your birthday but it's a secwet!'.

Henwee will lisp out something like 'Mummeee, I going to go to Daddee's school cos I a BIG BOY and haf an adventure wif the ovver lickle boys but it's be a SUPWISE for Mummeeee!'

(I feel a bit ill just writing that ickle wickle bilge)

ElementaryMyDear · 21/03/2016 13:42

No producer with the appalling blot on his record that was the whole Brookfields sale ludicrousness can claim that his reign was a success.

ElementaryMyDear · 21/03/2016 13:44

I don't think it's absurd that Ian and Kirsty haven't had a discussion about Helen. They're not particularly matey, and Ian has made it very clear that he really has no wish to have anything to do with Helen. I would hope that that will change once he realises she wasn't in control, but for the moment his attitude is entirely credible.

enochroot · 21/03/2016 13:47

Linda mentioned the Save campaign last week. I thought The Road had been kicked into the long grass.

AnnieNoMouse · 21/03/2016 13:57

Dumdedum I hadn't realised that was the Hazel Woolley actress Blush
But I wouldn't be at all surprised if Hazel is a slitheen and the Titcheners are all her slitheen friends; possibly Justin Elliott and Alf Grundy too. There'll be a big Easter special when all the slitheen arrive in Ambridge for the big showdown/series finale and attempt to whisk Henry off to the boarding school ( a slitheeen one of course). The final twist will be that Henry's biological father is also slitheen and they simply want to return him to his "real" family.
(I may be confusing my BBC dramas)

KittiesInsane · 21/03/2016 14:08

Ooh.

Pity they scotched the rumour about where Doc met Knob. Wouldn't it be equally improbable fun to have Rob turn out to be a prolific local sperm donor.

'Henry... I AM your father!.

BYOSnowman · 21/03/2016 14:40

On the boarding school thing - surely Henry will be the youngest there by about 3 years. That sounds fun for him. Not.

WipsGlitter · 21/03/2016 16:10

I agree that pat et al would be more put out about the martyr Tictchners when they are banned from lending a hand. I'm surprised Rob agreed to the tea party to be honest. And yes, fairly sure Henry will lab at that about going to school like dadeeeeee.

ElementaryMyDear · 21/03/2016 16:19

Knob was happy about the tea party because it doesn't include dangerous types like Kirsty, he reckons he's got Pat sufficiently under this thumb for her to be no problem, and Ursula and he will be there to keep control of any other potentially dissentient elements like Tony. I can't remember, was Tom on the list?
