But everyone ran off leaving Henwee alone

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 24/03/2016 19:26

MrsC Tony was in the shop

And why was Rob at home and not doing deliveries?

Gruach · 24/03/2016 19:26

So will SOC's exit be celebrated with Helen locked up - somewhere?

She sounded rather keen on the killing Rob idea ...

ElementaryMyDear · 24/03/2016 19:26

I wonder whether Rob has the brains to realise that using Henry for his manipulations is never going to work. It was telling her that she wasn't fit to have him that caused her to snap before. I was thinking that he may take the line that of COURSE he wasn't thinking about boarding school before but now Helen's given him the idea he realises it's the only way to keep Henry safe, but I really think it's the one thing she wouldn't buy.

Stickerrocks · 24/03/2016 19:27

Pat can't get either of them alone. Ursula is like an octopus, wrapping her tentacles around him and drawing him close. Pat can't get near him. How dare she walk into his life and become an instant granny without P&T getting antsy.

MeolsCop · 24/03/2016 19:27

BUT.....H knows. She knows. And when she manages to think clearly - as she did when H told her about being sent away - that rage was there all right.

It's harrowing to listen to, but I now feel sure she will get there.

Travelledtheworld · 24/03/2016 19:29

I am hoping Knob comes to nasty end in a slurry tank...

ooma · 24/03/2016 19:29

As Pat and Tony have been involved with Henry's care since he was born, why the hell are they sitting on the sidelines when their only grandchild is so distressed, Ugh

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/03/2016 19:32

Does he not care what damage he's doing to the baby, apart from anything else? All this stress surging through Helen's body can't possibly be good for the baby. You'd think that might have reined him in, but then he's not very bright and he's not rational.

That was a horrible episode. I can hardly bear to think what tomorrow will bring. Sad Angry

recyclingbag · 24/03/2016 19:32

I feel a bit sick.

I've poured a glass of wine.

ElementaryMyDear · 24/03/2016 19:32

There was a glimmer of comfort in the fact that, when angry, Helen realised that the stuff about not driving was utter bollocks and grabbed the car keys. Especially after that stuff at the beginning about how she shouldn't even be getting the bus.

Stickerrocks · 24/03/2016 19:32

She isn't going to be given the chance to think clearly though. Pat & Ursula are making more of that bloody tea for her and she won't be allowed a moment to herself. Now that she's ruined Ursula's leaving party, how can she possibly be left alone. I'm furious that Pat is letting Ursula speak about Helen like that without trying to get her alone, hold her and let her let it all out like any Mum would do.

Stickerrocks · 24/03/2016 19:33

Plucking up the courage to see what they're saying on FB.

FriedSprout · 24/03/2016 19:33

I've poured another G&T and come out of hiding. This is honestly too much. I need all Rob's chickens to come home to roost, ASAP!

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 24/03/2016 19:33

Still don't like the way they've roped in ursula

I agree BYOS this is one of the main flaws in the SL.

Rob getting her to stay so he can manipulate her into offering to pay for BS - yes I can believe

Ursula joining in the gaslighting and manipulation of Helens friends and family - no I can't believe

redshoeblueshoe · 24/03/2016 19:35

I hope Patbot insists that Helen comes to stay with her for a few days
please

Shallishanti · 24/03/2016 19:36

yes, WITH Henry

EmilyDickinson · 24/03/2016 19:37

Oh come on Pat. Clearly Henry told Helen that he was going to boarding school. Even if Pat believes Ursula's story that Henry got the wrong end of the stick Patnow nows that:

1 Henry believed that he was going to be sent away.

2 Helen believes (rightly as it happens) that Rob is the kind of person who would send a five year old to boarding school. Helen knows Rob better than anyone. What should that tell Pat?

3 Henry believed that Helen (who loves him more than anything in the world) had planned this. So what or who has poisoned their relationship to this extent?

4 Ursula admitted that she and Rob have been discussing a new school for Henry without speaking to Helen at all.

5 Helen said, "It's Rob, it's always Rob" ie there's a lot more that's happened that Pat doesn't know about.

Please, please, Pat, join the dots.

redshoeblueshoe · 24/03/2016 19:37

Elementary I hope picking up the keys makes Helen start to realise what is happening. She can drive, she can get a bus, she could have gone to work.

nippiesweetie · 24/03/2016 19:38

Please let Helen get to thinking about Knob and Arsula's day out, phone the school and get recorded evidence that they were there talking about enrolling Henwee.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/03/2016 19:40

If Ursula shares Rob's belief that she and he are superior to everyone else, I suppose she may be taking the line that other people's tiresome objections to the plans that she and he know are right are just too much bother to deal with, so outright denials and lies are the easiest way to fob others off. Pat and Tony are straightforward, honest people and they have no clue what they are dealing with. Naturally enough, they take what they see and what they are told at face value, and the most obvious interpretation for people with only partial knowledge of what's been going on is that Helen is going mad.

ElementaryMyDear · 24/03/2016 19:40

She won't be able to get hold of anyone at the school now, nippiesweetie.

SaffyRosie · 24/03/2016 19:42

Yet again I am aghast at the implausibility of this plot in terms of hown knob gets away with nobody ever overhearing his lies or how he talks to Helen or Henry. Its just unbelievable.

Based on abused women normally don't leave until they have been battered 50 times (read this or saw on program about domestic abuse);it would seem that we have much more of this horrible knob/Helen plot to go.

I
Sadly it brings out the worst in me, I find it difficult to emphasise with Helen as she has always been wet. I keep shouting at her to grow a backbone although I know that Rob has downtrodden her so much she is brainwashed, it's not her fault. But all the same I can't connect with her. Helen is in denial But I think kirsty should ask Helen what she would do if it was her daughter get the Rob treatment? Would she want a daughter to be slapped by Rob? That might help her see sense.

glowfrog · 24/03/2016 19:42

OMG. That was tough to listen to. Poor Henry - but interesting that after a few days he wasn't so excited about going away to boarding school.

Yes, I can't believe Pat is just sitting on the sidelines through all this. I can only assume she's decided she doesn't understand her daughter and so just keeps away, lest she does something wrong, like when she talked to Helen about a home birth.

I am hoping that in the next episode It will actually turn out that Pat is now worried and thinks something bad is going on.

And fingers crossed Helen is just pretending to agree with Rob but that is probably wishful thinking.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 24/03/2016 19:42

Pat - Hellin, you and Henry should come and stay with us for a few days. A change of scene and time with us will do you the world of good.

Helen - Well I'm not sure mum - what do you think Rob?
Rob - Darlung, it's a lovely idea but don't you think it will unsettle Henry to be away from home?
Helen - Oh, yes of course, you're right. Sorry mum.
Pat - Well you know best Rob...
