Threads are moving so fast! Will this thread be here to welcome SOK?

Harrison would have looked up knobs record when the sab thing happened. If he had a record for violent crime that would have been the obvious time to raise it 'you have a problem with your temper, don't you mr titchener?'

spiker · 22/03/2016 13:55

Didn't the stage curtains also mysteriously go missing? In my head they are stuffed into the culvert with the bunting.

GypsyFl0ss · 22/03/2016 14:03

But given that we have issues in this country with one constabulary not necesarily being able to see the records of another's easily, how sure can we be that the records from Canada would be accessible to PC Plot?

BYOSnowman · 22/03/2016 14:18

But then they won't be in the future either

I think it would be better if he doesn't have a record and he's been getting away with this for years. He needs to go down for the abuse of Helen and that alone. Perhaps Jess will be a key defence witness.

Gruach · 22/03/2016 14:23

Oh! Just listened. The SWs should definitely be giving the brethren more stress and trauma - they did rather rise to the challenge.

And perhaps Toby is a teeny bit under-appreciated by his bro. Just because he's less keen on the grunt work. As the ideas man he should probably be earning rather more than half of whatever they make.

But who on earth would set fire to their hen house?

squeaver · 22/03/2016 14:27

David and Jennifer actually met Stefan in a not very nice cafe in Felpersham and Stefan told them that it was Rob who blocked the culvert. A fact that they have both, annoyingly, completely forgotten.

Then, yes, Rob killed Stefan, chopped up his body and sent it back to Poland.

squeaver · 22/03/2016 14:27

I may have slightly exaggerated that last sentence.

Putthetulipsthere · 22/03/2016 14:49

YY Squever.

I find David & Jennifer' apparent amnesia one of the most irritating of SOC's plot holes. They were - quite understandably - quite astonished to be informed that Knob blocked the culvert. Then nothing. 😬

Putthetulipsthere · 22/03/2016 14:55

Too many 'quites' in my last post!

Anyway David & Jennifer's silence on Stefan's disappearance does seem odd.

AskingForAPal · 22/03/2016 15:00

Especially given how darned community minded they both are - Boadicea of Borsetshire, and Saint David of the Parish Council, and the SAVE campaign etc.

Building on the "because Johnny's northern" idea, perhaps they forgot or didn't believe Stefan because he's foreign?

I reckon smartarse Josh's lazy door mechanism was to blame too - probably petrol powered or something.

RIP eggmobile though, I liked the idea of (as Richard said) Howl's Moving Castle bobbing around on Lakey Hill.

VitaSackvileVest · 22/03/2016 15:11

I don't blame Harrison for not solving the crimes. Firstly he needs to be informed about them, I'm guessing the Berrow Farm fraud will never be mentioned again, then he needs some intelligence such as a local pointing the finger in the right direction and evidence.

My relatives' little village has been plagued by crime for years. Most of the villagers are aware who the local thieving family are, and who the local arsonist is, but they are too scared to tell the police in case they are targeted. Now the local cop shop is shut at night and police are sent out from 25 miles away, people just have a dog and hope they won't be done.

AskingForAPal · 22/03/2016 15:20

Good point Vita. The same mechanism that had lots of people leaving anonymous notes in phone boxes and such after Stephen Lawrence was killed.

recyclingbag · 22/03/2016 15:25

I can't remember the details of the Berrow Farm books. Was Rob definitely up to no good or shit at accounts.

Is he definitely doing the same at the shop (not ringing things through the till)

squeaver · 22/03/2016 16:31

Charlie definitely found Rob covering his tracks with some wrong-doing on the accounts but I don't think he was personally benefiting, just messing up.

What I can't remember about the culvert story is if David then told Charlie? I think, maybe, he did but couldn't reveal his source. Then Charlie interviewed everyone at Berrow, except for Stefan who was fodder for the rats in the Am by then.

squeaver · 22/03/2016 16:31

Again, I may have slightly exaggerated that last sentence.

bilbodog · 22/03/2016 16:39

Hasnt toby been up to something in the past which is why ge went to brighton and had to borrow money off rex? Could it be related to this? Perhaps he still owes money for drugs or betting or something?

NotdeadyetBOING · 22/03/2016 16:43

I am enjoying your exaggerations, Squeaver

ColdTeaAgain · 22/03/2016 16:43

Really hope it comes to light what Knob was up to at Berrow.
Would love to hear Knob in court with Charlie giving evidence against him Grin

NotdeadyetBOING · 22/03/2016 16:49

How about incorporating Stefan in the next thread title?

Something along the lines of….'Whatever happened to Stefan? Discuss his likely whereabouts and other unresolved plot culvets holes in The Archers.

Toomuchtea · 22/03/2016 17:01

Where is Stefan? Where is he?

Maybe he's working his way slowly across Europe to Hungary and Debbie. Not very likely, I know.

enochroot · 22/03/2016 17:13

I miss Charlie.

I think Squeaver's right about David telling Charlie about what Stefan told them but not naming Rob. Rob tooK such offence at being questioned along with everyone else that he sounded guilty but Charlie had no real evidence and got the run-around from Rob when he tried to find Stefan.
Likewise when Charlie started investigating the fertility figures. Rob was defensive and then flounced while making innuendos about Charlie's sexuality.
Poor Charlie's managerial reputation suffered anyway and he's now languishing in Perth, poor lad.

Stickerrocks · 22/03/2016 17:17

I can't see how anyone from Brighton would know that a random eggmobile on a random farm in Borsetshire would belong to Rex. It's hardly the sort of thing that would come up in conversation with someone you owe money too.

Imagine the scene: "Ouch, you're hurting me with that drill. By the way, have you heard about my new pasteurised egg venture in Ambridge? Oh no, Scaramanga, get that drill bit out of my brain."

AskingForAPal · 22/03/2016 17:39

I still wouldn't mind a bit of Charlie's time Blush

Putthetulipsthere · 22/03/2016 18:15

It would be great to hear from Charlie. Can't imagine him on a fish farm somehow 😀

Love the suggestion of the next thread title notdeadyet. I do hope Jenni Murray will ask pointed questions to SOC re various plot holes - especially the whereabouts of Stefan!

recyclingbag · 22/03/2016 18:39

I don't mind the plot holes because actually, in real life, there are plot holes all over the place.

Loads of people get away with stuff, countless indiscretions just get forgotten about as people get on with their lives. Far more realistic than everything being neatly tidied up in Peggy's drawing room.
