Come on Kirsty!

We're stuck with the labrador puppies for two years. I might lose the will to live.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/02/2016 22:47

I wouldn't be so sure about 'Usha' not reappearing in the near future. As the only lawyer in the village and Ruth's best friend she is fairly certain to appear a few times a year. And we all know that being 60+ is no bar to continuing to work on TA, especially if you keep yourself fit.

enochroot · 09/02/2016 23:02

I wondered if Usha and Ruth being so impressed with Fallon's caff was a sign that we might hear more of Usha.
As Rob's landlady she would be less than human if she wasn't wondering if he can pay the rent on a part time shop job.

Scarydinosaurs · 09/02/2016 23:08

Ugh when is Toby next fecking off back to Brighton?

elpth · 09/02/2016 23:09

Not doing a great job of delurking very often but wanted to say Standard Issue is excellent, I really recommend it. In fact I've been surprised not to see it mentioned on MN before and it strikes me as a thing most MN would love. Definitely worth a read if you haven't already!

Fink · 09/02/2016 23:27

Did anyone else read the French article and think, 'Oooh, only a year of listening to TA for 12 hours a day to catch up on every episode since the beginning. I might give that a go!'? Grin

DadDadDad · 09/02/2016 23:46

No, Fink, I reckon you're on your own with that one!

AdventuresOfADentist · 10/02/2016 00:32

We could take it in turns to listen to the episodes and create another thread to tell TA from the beginning in thread form Grin

goes out to get life

AdventuresOfADentist · 10/02/2016 00:35

Asterisk fail Blush

Gruach · 10/02/2016 05:03

Fortunately Dentist there's already at least one website (can't remember the name) that tells the entire history of Ambridge in fairly minute detail. I know because I once spent an entire weekend on it. Blush

elpth and others - I'm grateful but you clearly didn't catch the note of desperation in my Standard Issue query. What with the 24 hour MN habit and half a day every day on K. Davies' boiler updates, social life and TA clarifications there is no space in my life for any more screen based adventures.

I always think of Usha as my close contemporary - so am always surprised when reminded that the actor is not. She must be so bored with life in Ambridge atm ...

Gruach · 10/02/2016 05:43

Forgot the Grin

CuttedUpPear · 10/02/2016 06:07

I'm discusted (in true MN style).

The February page of the TA calendar features a side bar discussion about. ...Knob! With some absolute guff about him 'dividing opinion' in the way that Lynda Snell had previously! Erm, NO. I think we can safely say that we have all got our minds firmly made up - even the stickler that was someone on here's dad has seen the error of his ways now.

I have had to take the black marker pen to the actor's face (sorry, RL person) as I can't stand a whole 3 weeks of him looking at me.

"the entire history in fairly minute detail" - lowfield?

i do wonder about usha's legal credentials

Maybe fallon will have a fall out with rob over some arsehole comment he makes about chintz

Gruach · 10/02/2016 08:57

Abraid - Weirdly I had no idea ...

BYOSnowman · 10/02/2016 09:12

Careful guys - don't want Olivia to come and tell us off!!

selsigfach · 10/02/2016 09:31

Speaking of young listeners, my 14-month-old did a little dance yesterday when TA theme tune came on. So proud!

Abraid2 · 10/02/2016 09:57

My son used to do that at about the same age, selsig!

Minimammoth · 10/02/2016 15:13

Thanks for the foreknowledge that this last episode was not a Helrob Epi.
Safe to listen. Pancakes or Michelin star....oh Brahn!

FurryGiraffe · 10/02/2016 15:23

Delurking to report that I interviewed an applicant to university today who brought up The Archers (or more specifically HelRob) in her interview and was talking about how it has changed her understanding of domestic abuse. The knowledge that it's having a positive educational effect makes listening to the storyline a little more bearable.

GruntledOne · 10/02/2016 15:46

I hope you're offering that applicant a place, Furry, based on her enlightened choice of radio listening material?

Gruach · 10/02/2016 15:48

Please tell us you offered her a scholarship on the spot?Grin

FurryGiraffe · 10/02/2016 16:11

She's definitely getting an offer, though sadly I may need to find another way to justify it...Though it's tempting just to write 'demonstrated detailed knowledge and understanding of current storylines on The Archers' as justification and see whether admissions notice!
