We love Charlie. But we want Adam and Ian to get married. What will happen in Ambridge in the pre-Christmas thread?

Just listened to Friday - we are 2 weeks from Christmas and David didn't even ask whether Ruth will be back by then?

i bet Rob would stalk Helen on here.

( who remembers that Mner who had mumsnetters going to meet her at the station and a refuge and stuff ? Who was that? Was a degree of group hysteria iirc)

Knob and Hellin probably have a joint Facebook account too....
Full of scan photos and Knob helpfully pointing out SOK's todger.

In answer to SeekEveryKnownHidingPlace 's comment about Pat - she was exceedingly vile after John's meeting with a tractor, when she sided with Hellbent (who has always been horrible, which is why I don't give a monkey's if she dies a long lingering tortured death by cheese) against Hayley about carrying on with John's sausage business. Granted, Pat was clearly deeply depressed after the death of her PFB, but there was no need for them to cold-shoulder and vilify Hayley to the extent they did.

@Gruach

When are James and Leonie going to realise Mungo belongs in Ambridge??

When schooling comes up? Surely be much better off at Loxley Barrett than an oversubscribed something in London?

Also I was annoyed at last night's "come in Peggy" from Clarrie when they dropped by for a mince pie cooked at Grange Farm when before Clarrie had been all beseeching "Mrs Woolley this and Mrs Woolley if you would everrr mind speaking to Hazel about kicking us out of Keeperrrs?"

olivia I have learned something today. I have always thought it was Locksley Barracks. Never seen it written down before. Somehow, I had assumed it was an old private school with a military background. Strange what you make up in your head Smile

And I loathe Helen. Can not stand her. (I know she is not real) She is so self, self, self. If Knob kills her, it will be karma for her being so stupid and not seeing from that start he was a bastard when she was stealing him from his wife. She is a middle-class, snotty creature.

(Have no idea why I got so fired up just there)

I don't think Helen stole Knob from his wife, that ship probably sailed from the moment Jess failed to accompany him to Ambridge and dared to remove herself from his control.

I have always despised Hellin, ever since she was so horrible to Hayley, as Dumdedum describes.

My chief concern over all the Knobbishness is that Hellin is being reinvented and will eventually emerge as Plucky Heroine.

But some of us DO NOT FORGET

Dipank I remember a conversation between H and Kirsty, where K basically said "But he's married!" and H responded with "Fiddledeedee, it's ME he loves and that's all that matters"

I paraphrase, but that was the gist of it.

It was after H & K split the first time (after Jess moved to Ambridge) and it was H who then pursued him, until she got what she wanted. This was in the days before the scripties had decided that K was to be an out-and-out cad, bounder and psychopath though.

Going back to Roothie for a moment - wasn't she very keen to go and live in France and farm there at one time, or do my ears deceive me?

I think she has always had itchy feet.

I started listening around the time of Greg's death and remember feeling sorry for Helen. However I went right off her during the Annette episode and how horrid she was to Tony when she was pregnant. Remember how unreasonable she was when he dared to buy her a baby monitor? Completely self absorbed.

Wasn't the possible relocation to France when there was all the dithering about who Phil should leave the farm to?

I wonder if Phil has recovered from all the spinning in his grave he would have been doing over Northumberland? Hope so as he will probably be starting over again soon

I realise the vat return discussion was several posts ago but in the interest of getting the thread finished for a new Christmas title, yes they will be doing vat returns either quarterly or monthly. Most of their outputs will be zero rated but they can reclaim input vat so keeping up to date with vat returns Helps cash flow. Dairy farmers tend to be more aware than most of their financial position because there is widespread industry benchmarking.
