Do you know that I was 3 months pregnant when the first thread started - DD was 2 yesterday Cake

That must also mean that Poppy Grundy's 2nd birthday has passed by unremarked upon...

Ermm Rock Are you forgetting that Roof's going to inherit quite a bit soon as an 'only'.?

RockNRollNerd · 21/10/2015 14:20

I've got my fingers in my ears not listenting ppeat Grin.

Of course as we've already established Ambridgomics are a law unto themselves but in my fantasy there isn't actually that much cash - it could happen couldn't it - HP has hocked the house to free up cash to enjoy her retirement? The houseprice/cost of living difference between Pruddah and Ambridge means it's less than the amount David's lent Kenton...? She's been slipping cash to people left right and centre in some marmalade based protection racket?

Tickory · 21/10/2015 14:21

Ruth will be shouting 'Deevid' again when she finds out he's helping provide silage to Berrow. 'Why didn't you tell me?' she'll whine then stomp off to comfort Ben who's still crying over GrannieH. The Pip and Trex storyline is really boring. And if Adam gives any thought to those City Hoorays running his herd it will be ridiculous. I really hope the Fairbrethren characters don't last. Or even better Ruth opens up to Rex and he tells her all about the time he found solace in his Granny grief by watching the Graduate and they decide to reenact it, then Pip walks in on them.

Minimammoth · 21/10/2015 14:38

I am beginning to hate the Fairbrethren as much as I hate Rob 'Teflon' Titchener. I am now worried that my own prediction might come to pass.

BYOSnowman · 21/10/2015 14:47

I hate the fairbrethren more than rob

At least rob is creating an interesting sl and is played really well

The fairbrethren are just too beige. And beige is not a good colour to listen to

FloraDiesEarly · 21/10/2015 15:53

Yes I think we're not supposed to like the Fairbrethren because they're "posh, City types" etc etc but it's actually because they're boring, interchangeable and pointless.

Gruach · 21/10/2015 15:58

Tickory!Grin

I'm guessing SOC didn't choose the Fairbrothers by accident and isn't going to let them go. But I missed the entire Robin/Elizabeth story - was the editor at the time intending to bring the Fairbrother family back or was it all just thrown away, like Paul?

Minimammoth · 21/10/2015 16:03

Charlie / Adam musings. Maybe they will form a' manage a trios' with Ian< if I spelt it properly>. Charlie needs proper looking after.

Tickory · 21/10/2015 16:45

Ah, yes, there has to be something to come up about the Fairbrother history Gruach (just had to look up the Elizabeth connection). Tho' all this harping back and village history I fing hugely irritating.

redshoeblueshoe · 21/10/2015 16:48

Tickory Grin if that happens all I can say is thank God its radio.
Re the inheritance - maybe it will go straight to the grandchildren Shock

We've heard a lot about weeping Ben. What if he gets it all?

BYOSnowman · 21/10/2015 17:29

But they're not even city types - they are a stereotype and that pisses me off even more

poor Ben - having to mime his grief. Knowing David and Ruth though, they'll give it straight to pip

ppeatfruit · 21/10/2015 17:43

Why would you find the history irritating Tickory? After all Amb. is a real village, it doesn't exist in a bubble you know Grin

Bea · 21/10/2015 19:05

Oh!!!! He's sooooooo horrible!!!
Please! Please! Please! Let him get his come uppance soon!!!!

GruntledOne · 21/10/2015 19:16

Well, there's a degree of grim humour in Rob saying how difficult he finds it to lie.

LyndaNotLinda · 21/10/2015 19:24

I'm also bored and fed up with the Fairbros. And Rob was especially hateful today.

And Calendar Girls?! I'm already starting to backtrack on my previous position. Does anyone else think Susan has a massive tatt she doesn't want anyone to see? :o

selsigfach · 21/10/2015 19:33

FFS Helen! Even after being raped by him and having the scales fall from her eyes, she still signs her son over to a monster. I know it's not real but I hate people who put abusive partners before their children. How can her pride be more important to her than her child?

Tickory · 21/10/2015 19:37

ppeatfruit, I don't mind hearing of past events, characters, etc, I just find the way they are doing it too contrived and it usually involves flippin' Carol Teapot Tregorran gushing around Jill!

Great telecon with Lynda/Susan tonight

Feel things are stepping up a notch in the Knob/Hellin scenario. Is he going to use her pregnancy, hormones etc. to make out she's losing her marbles and get her sectioned 'for your own safety dahling' so he can take over completely..??!

Tickory · 21/10/2015 19:39

Ha ha LyndanotL! Loved Lynda's 'carefully positioned fruitbowl'

Tickory · 21/10/2015 19:43

Did I miss something about a toilet paper fortune BTW?

BiscuitMillionaire · 21/10/2015 19:51

Having read the Relationships board I know all about gaslighting, and it's exactly what Knob is doing. Hearing him do it to Helen might even make some listeners realise that their own spouse is abusive.

mummytime · 21/10/2015 20:09

I think there is still wriggle room - Helen said they shouldn't have told Henry until after they got the sealed certificate. But it will be hard as Henry seems to love Rob so much - isn't that what we see on the relationship boards: "but he's such a good Dad, the children love him."

SevenOhTwo · 21/10/2015 20:12

Noooooo Helen!

That was a strange episode - the first half we had quite a strong sounding Helen - I liked the way she emphasised her support for Charlie and sounded exasperated telling Rob off for abusing the electrician and using her as an excuse. She sounded quite fed up with him, as she has a few times recently.

I was sure she was going to sabotage the signing somehow - so disappointing.

I think she must just be thinking, well all relationships have their ups and downs, no ones perfect, I am hormonal so maybe I'm overreacting, everyone else seems to think Robs lovely so he must be, etc etc. she definitely knows he's not quite what she hoped he was.

There were a couple of lovely lines tonight - I liked the irony of Knob telling Helen there's no point hanging on to someone you can't trust.

BertrandRussell · 21/10/2015 20:15

I reckon Henry's going to have an accident out hunting. You heard it here first.
