I'm not sure that ferrets cannot through a thumb sized hole - rats can, and mice can fit through a pen sized hole. But I know the SWs will have researched such a statement carefully Easter Wink

She and Jamie were crushed by a tree that he was felling. Chris Carter was smithing nearby and also perished. It's very sad.

Just caught up with the film and this thread. Grin at earlier mention of Heatherpet sounding like Old Morher Riley, just what I had in my head listening to her!!!

lalalonglegs · 12/04/2015 12:58

They all died? [Shock] Including Alice's Chris? I have NO recollection of this and Alice seems pretty breezy (organising Blithe Spirit at Christmas).

ChopperGordino · 12/04/2015 13:08

She's having you on Lala Grin

There was a bizarre scene sometime last year where alice and chris went to J&B's for lunch, and Chris was always "in the other room" - parking the car or stacking the dishwasher etc

Eastpoint · 12/04/2015 13:09

Elizabeth's children were crushed at the same time as was Amy, Alan's daughter, Vickie & baby. Not much fuss about it, Brenda didn't come back for the funeral. In fact why haven't we heard from Vickie for months? Or Brenda, you'd think she'd come & support Roy in his time of need.

lalalonglegs · 12/04/2015 13:17

I was puzzled by the lack of hand-wringing from Susan Smile. So, to recap, Chris, Jamie, Cathy, Vicky, Bethany, Alan's daughter Amy, the twins and Susan's Horrobin family are all, ahem, in their rooms listening to tapes a la Tracy Barlow? And what happened to Ifitar, the lovely cricket captaon who lookef as if he'd help Elizabeth get over Nigel?

Seriouslyffs · 12/04/2015 13:58

Grin ^^
Do parents go to Sandhurst passing out balls? Surely not.
Lost ferret episode and Eddie encouraging Ed to be feckless was awful!

ppeatfruit · 12/04/2015 15:50

Yes of course Seriously It's like a university degree ceremony.

Ed did say that Ed. jnr has got all that clearing work for the estate which is true.

toldmywrath · 12/04/2015 18:35

"Let's go outside" said Adam to Charlie (& that's what George Michael sang after his lewdness conviction)I was humming it & thinking of it in that context -naughty script writers!

toldmywrath · 12/04/2015 18:54

I was really really irritated today by the way Jill exclaims rather than speaks- now I keep listening out for it! DAVID! OH YES! etc!! !! & !!

toldmywrath · 12/04/2015 18:55

So to be clear- Elizabeth& Dr Locke did not have a fling in days' past? I wasn't listening in the 90's. Thanks.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/04/2015 19:18

That's right, told. No Lizzie/Docke affair. Yet.

Alistair just now sounded very much as if he's been having one though!

toldmywrath · 12/04/2015 19:47

Thanks Bore -yes I was listening for a rare change (film devotee) & got annoyed by the heavy sign posting that all's not well in Shula land.

Seriouslyffs · 12/04/2015 20:15

To the parade, definitely but I'm pretty sure not to the evening ball.
Certainly a generation ago it was strictly new officers and their friends- parents were long gone before the evening.
Maybe Passing Out balls are like University Open days and my generation has muscled in on them too!

ErrolTheDragon · 12/04/2015 23:29

I have only just noticed NelsonsWineBar - great name!

enochroot · 13/04/2015 00:35

There's a moment during graduation day when parents know they should depart before the serious celebration begins and I'm sure Sandhurst passing out parades are the same.

Listening to the Omnibus I noticed that Rob is obviously and overtly hostile. Helen must be aware, having spent months pandering to his every whim - 'It's not your shop' etc. She seems to be courting danger now.

Icimoi · 13/04/2015 16:33

It sounded last night as if Ian is beginning to wonder about Charlie at last.

lalalonglegs, Cathy got a job managing the health club at Grey Gables. Silently, apparently.

Re Shula, I wondered whether the storyline is going to be that Alastair is sliding into boring retirement, Shula is still hankering after What Might Have Been and Surely There's More to Life Than This, and makes the big play for the Doc.

toldmywrath · 13/04/2015 16:35

Yes I thought that about Ian as well Icimoi . Poor Ian, I think Adam wanted to go to Dave's on his own as well. Sad

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2015 16:43

Think you might be right about shula/alistair, ici.

Nice to hear Ian's voice again anyway.... lurking SWs, we want more of him, don't even think about writing him out.

mummytime · 13/04/2015 18:02

I thought Ian was great last night, he provided a reason for the explanations Adam was giving. I'm really enjoying the soil science!

GypsyFloss · 13/04/2015 19:10

Loving Helen railroading Knob.

GypsyFloss · 13/04/2015 19:12

Is PC Plot moonlighting as the doctor? I did wonder whether they'd used the budget up on everyone else at Bridge Farm.

Knob is going to lie to Helen isn't he?

selsigfach · 13/04/2015 19:13

Rob makes my skin crawl. How is he going to try and wriggle out of this one?

GypsyFloss · 13/04/2015 19:14

Ah ok . I haven't heard Dr Locke but did read that he sounded like The Rev and the PC plot. Didn't realise that it was him doing the swab.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 13/04/2015 19:15

Wasn't that dr Locke?

Only one doctor allowed per program you know

He sounds old!! And an affair. Bleurgh
