Bolloxfest is imminent. Will this thread make it to the big day?

I too was gobsmacked to find myself cheering Knob. It must be the first time anyone in that village has ever stood up to Charlieboy.

I really hope this isn't going to be one of those major character wrenches and that Knob is still going to be a knob. Maybe the subtext is that he is happy to alienate Charlie and his mates to show Hellin and her family whose side he's on so he can step into Tom's shoes?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/08/2014 19:59

I don't think he's alienated Charlie. Charlie seemed to take it on board and I can see those two becoming allies in a way.

Charlie thinks he is too clever for ambridge. Rob is much more cunning!

stilllearnin · 06/08/2014 20:21

Haven't heard tonight yet. But if it was Freddie then clearly it will lead to a heated head to head (lizzie/ Charlie I mean) which will boil over into a steamy snog all eastenders style!

Universal · 06/08/2014 21:08

Have I missed something? What did Freddie see? Loved tonight's episode.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/08/2014 21:10

He walked in on Roy and lizzie having a moment

BabyGoose · 06/08/2014 21:24

How the hell did I miss that? When was it Snowman? Soon after they came back? I though Lizzy made it clear it was a one night only thing.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/08/2014 21:52

It was the end of an episode a few days after shagfest

Not clear what've saw but probably a kiss. Liz went after him and no more was really said of it I don't think

But it's clearly seared on his brain!!!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 06/08/2014 21:59

We didn't hear her talking to Freddie but I think the general idea is that she tried to pass it off as a hug between colleagues. Freddie is no Einstein but I don't think he's an utter fool so I doubt he's been taken in by that. Poor lad. Not that it excuses lobbing a half-brick at the village hall, though.

Icimoi · 06/08/2014 22:00

Freddie's not the only one seared by his mother's activities. I think we're all still traumatised by the mental picture of Lizzie and Polyester Roy shagging.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/08/2014 22:14

Which would have been worse - intentionally lobbing it at the door or intentionally lobbing it at Charlie?

stilllearnin · 06/08/2014 22:57

Come on, it was only half a brick Grin

PseudoBadger · 07/08/2014 04:41

Maybe it was only half a shag icimoi?

Why did Ben have to go through the "restorative justice" process (I.e. Say sorry) when he didn't even do it? And the copper hadn't even spoken to the actual half-brick chucker?

Icimoi · 07/08/2014 06:43

Come to think of it, it was unusually sensitive of Knob to eff off whilst Ben went through his apology. Charlieboy was all for him joining the audience.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 07/08/2014 07:55

So they are either rowing back on knob being an abusive year and he will get a knighthood in the New Years honours

On the other hand, a lot of abusers are very nice people to the outside world and that's why they get away with it for so long. How do you convince people that mr perfect really isn't?

R4 · 07/08/2014 08:42

Never mind Freddie being traumatised by what he saw in the woodshed. If I was Ben, I would be even more traumatised by my mum joining in with the rozzer's interrogation. Yes, you expect a telling off but in the privacy of your own home and not being forced to dob in your mate.Angry

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 07/08/2014 09:06

I think they handled it well! Except the apology to Charlie. Thy would hae been better making him go with Freddie to apologise and make them paint the village hall door.

In eastenders his mum would have been telling him not to be a grass and ordering pc plot off her land. Ben would be in a young offenders before you know it with parenting like that!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 07/08/2014 09:53

Hah! I've been pondering how it would have played out had the culprits been a couple of random Horrobin children rather than two princes of the land.

But I guess it will bring another opportunity for Elizabeth to flirt with Plod.

trevortrevorslattery · 07/08/2014 10:43

teeny/petula Yes Prudhoe is quite nice... there's a lovely riverside park.

TeenyfTroon · 07/08/2014 11:00

Thanks trevor, I'll try not to be so unreasonably prejudiced and confine my dislike to Rooooth!

BabyGoose · 07/08/2014 11:04

Maybe Lizzie will have her wicked way with Harrison just as Fallon realises she loves him. Roy will find out and go apeshit and then Hayley will guess what happened between them.

Kirk1 · 07/08/2014 11:08

I'm not sure what Ben was supposed to be apologising for - sounds like he didn't throw the brick, didn't think it was a good idea, and told Freddie not to do it - should he have left the scene before the brick had been thrown or wrestled his cousin to the ground?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 07/08/2014 11:10

I think he was saying that to save his bacon! I'm sure the pair of them egged each other on and thought it was a marvellous idea

Teenagers aren't great at working out consequences of their actions so I thought the punishment was good!!

R4 · 07/08/2014 12:48

Ben is twelve years old. "Children between 10 and 17 can be arrested and taken to court if they commit a crime." source

Would you seriously take Ruth's path and encourage your DS to make a confession and run the risk of prosecution by the Arch Enemy? Would you want your son fingerprinted, have his DNA taken, have a police record?

ppeatfruit · 07/08/2014 15:44

No R4 especially as he wasn't the one wot done it! A bit ridiculous of Ruth including the fact that she never said nothing about 'im doin' wheelies on the green and she said she saw 'im. (sorry can't help the EE way of carrying on). ! Way to Go Knob!! Grin it's a wonder ee ditn't land that effin Charlie one !! or at least say STF up !!!
