Come and play Grand Theft Combine through the quiet Ambridge streets. And by the way, ROB IS STILL MARRIED.

Bolloxfest is imminent. Will this thread make it to the big day?

It's the shouting mostly - I would object to that, regardless of the relationship between the shouter and the shoutee. I hate it when people shout at each other.

However, if I shouted at the child of my employer I would expect to get into deep doodoo, regardless of how long I'd known the child or how well. Just not a sensible thing to do, but of course Roy isn't behaving sensibly. Has he perhaps had a knock on the head a few months back?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 07/08/2014 20:09

But agree that he's deluded. And it's horrible to think of Hayley waiting patiently at the pub, not knowing that her mariage is hanging by a thread.

Actually I was relieved that they didn't mirror Tom and Kirstie's date night all those years ago when she was so hopeful and ended the evening dumped.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 07/08/2014 20:12

Meant marriage..

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 07/08/2014 20:18

If she was a regular on the Relationships board here I think she'd have started to have suspicions by now. Sad

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 07/08/2014 20:20

I thought it was more raised voices than shouting and a its a radio programme I guess that's a way to signal a heated discussion.

But then shouting doesn't bother me as it was a conversation rather than shouting at him and he did make a couple of good points (basically don't use your fathers death to try and excuse your behaviour)

PseudoBadger · 07/08/2014 20:36

I wonder if Mike will snuff it as a device to have Roy be comforted by Lizard?

OP posts:
Selks · 07/08/2014 20:39

Yes I was surprised about that, Build. I was expecting Freddie to throw 'the snog' back at Roy when Roy was having a go at him.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 07/08/2014 20:42

Sad I don't want Brenda to be an orphan. She's only just moving past the shock of her mother's death.

Although Mike really doesn't sound quite well.

BabyGoose · 07/08/2014 20:47

I've always had a soft spot for Ed, and did like the drama of Hayley waiting for Roy while Ed and Emma looked on in pity as they are so in love. I hope Emma sees the problems Eds facing and shows her resolve in fixing it. I'd like a happy ending for them through hard work and determination.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 07/08/2014 21:05

Sod hard work and determination - they need some luck. Another yet to be discovered great-aunt with an even bigger fortune than Will inherited. Or a proper lottery win. They've suffered long enough, it's time.

PetulaGordino · 07/08/2014 21:18

i don't think what roy said was wrong, i just think it was unrealistic that freddie would respond in that way. it would get most teenagers' backs up i htink

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 07/08/2014 21:39

On the basis that Fred saw nothing, Roy is an outsider in a way who is showing he cares about him enough to talk to him about it.

If he saw the snog, he surely would have brought it up? What do you know about my dad? You just want to replace him etc

R4 · 07/08/2014 21:48

Well I'm glad to see that the SW have read my posts and re-written the brick-throwing event as being a more serious incident.Grin I suppose that Freddie is in more trouble because (a) he was the one who threw the brick and (b) he is 14 y.o.

I too have a soft spot for Ed. His heart is in the right place except when it comes to Willyum. He deserves some happiness.

Selks · 07/08/2014 21:53

I've got a soft spot for Ed, and dare I say it, Emmurr too. They are trying very hard to make their family work. I hope they get a stroke of luck from somewhere.

Icimoi · 07/08/2014 21:54

I'd like Ed and Emma to have some good luck for once, but I'd settle for someone frogmarching them down to the Citizens' Advice Bureau and making them fill in applications for tax credits.

R4 · 07/08/2014 22:01

You'd think that some of her Horrobin relatives would put them right re claiming benefits.

BabyGoose · 07/08/2014 22:06

Seriously, Ed and Em would think they won the lottery if only someone would whisper, 'Working tax credit'.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 07/08/2014 22:07

If I were writing it Ed and Emma would have the sort of luck that puts a nice sum of money in the bank so that, in a few years time, they could register shockingly clever Keira for The Cathedral School. It would be simply gorgeous for Emma to be asking uniform and homework advice from Shula and Elizabeth. (And no point in George even taking the exam so shucks to Will.)

BabyGoose · 07/08/2014 22:14

Let Ed make a teeny bit of money and buy some agricultural land. That land could be the next bypass and he could gain 100000s from the sale in 2018. Kids would be just old enough to be affected by the sudden windfall.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 07/08/2014 22:15

I don't like the ed/William thing. I feel sorry for both of them although I know most people don't like will.

I don't think a windfall would work but a stroke of luck job wise. It's not like they don't want to work after all. Agree with icimoi that they need to talk to CAB!!

Anyway, off on holiday tomorrow so I'm going to miss Jenny's do and bolloxfest. Will hae to try and get access to the low field synopses!!

BabyGoose · 07/08/2014 22:19

Snowman - cancel your holiday!

R4 · 07/08/2014 22:32

You know that the SW have been throwing in literary references recently, do you think that they are branching out into musical references now?
Freddie's apology will henceforth be known as the Unhalfbricking.Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 07/08/2014 22:39

Very tempted!

I'm going to assume Freddie hasn't made the cricket team at school

Panzee · 08/08/2014 06:42

There was a thread about kitchen supper puddings yesterday. I crashed it with an Archers reference but got ignored.

PseudoBadger · 08/08/2014 06:55

Can anyone remind when Bolloxfest is?
