She's meal planning! Keeping a record of all outgoings!

Next she'll be on S&B looking for a dress for a posh London wedding....

Yeap - the craziest thing is that Ednemmur don't seem to be claiming any benefits when surely they'd be entitled to some.

Will is probably on a good wage and gets 'tips' and his house is free and gets the rental income from the about to be dumped Tom.

Will & Nic have free housing, too, the GameKeeper's cottage.
Nic probably has some maintenance from Andrew.
Also having George another night means W+N can treat George to a few nice things (even just a DVD or take-away pizza) so that Emma feels less guilty that she can't.

fair enough
the poverty thing does seem to have appeared out of no-where though doesn't it?

I imagine they feel they have to 'do' the recession.

Ednemmur did a very bad thing and they will have to be punished

A new question - how much do you think Tom and Helen get paid? Does anyone really see any of the Bridge Farm businesses bringing in any profit whatsoever?

I reckon that Brenda is supporting Tom's fantasy sausage empire entirely.

How about - where is Helen?

I reckon that they've never paid any taxes and they're going to be slapped with a massive tax bill, and it will be the last straw.

And then nice Ed will run off with nice Nick.

PseudoBadger · 13/11/2012 22:38

Maybe they'll get a tax rebate :o

No. I want them to eat the guinea pig.

Realistically, I bet you're right and they'll go to the CAB and be talked through the benefits available to them.

And then at the end: "If you've been affected by any of the issues raised you can call the Radio 4 action line on....."

Surely she won't steal from the village shop, especially while her own mum in on the till Shock

Will she speak to CAB or I've-been-there-Nic? The SW won't want to spoil their years of anticipated fraternal warring but it might make it more interesting if the womenfolk pally up. But I still can't believe that a Horrobin/Grundy household doesn't know about the benefits that they can claim

Do you like my birthday name-change.

Oh I prefer the crime idea to being lectured on benefits. After all she has bad blood.

Also why isn't irritating Emmur sucking it up and going back to do a bit more work, she cut her hours recently didn't she. Don't get me started on annoying Will. He always overreacts!

There must be loads of people she could ask for more hours of cleaning work from - Lillian, Linda (her b&b), the Bull, Jenny-darling, Caroline and Oliver (where is Caroline incidentally and whatever happened to their fostering exploits?)

I don't think Emma actually wants to do any more work. Just compare her attitude to Ed's.

Emma is her mother's daughter as far as downright snobbishness goes, and she doesn't want to fit with the Grundy work ethic and poor Clarrie going down to the JobCentre and scraping around for work. (Remember that - now that was sad.)

Alternatively, maybe Emma and Ed have fed Helen to George.

Sorry to say I shed a small tear for Ed when he was given the steak and kidney pie today.

No tears for Emma.

And how far in advance did you JUST KNOW that Susan was going to meet Emma at the Foodbank? I guessed that was coming the first time they mentioned collecting for it.

I think they are not claiming any benefits, today when Emma said she had NO MONEY, Ed was talking about when the next milk cheque arrives, not "what about the tax credits coming in this week".
