I have found a good deal to kos on the 24th july but the flight times are dreadful!

I want to go away in september the month before I go back to work (and being on mat leave I have all 'summer if we get on here ) but d but dc's dad still digging his heels in. He said to me last night that he could see I've lost lots of weight but asked when would my tummy go back to normal so I could wear a bikini . My bikini pants woud cover the 'slack' bit but not that keen to wear one after that

we paid more for good flights..i can't do unsociable flight times lol! so we leave here at 8.30am for a 12.45pm flight.

oooooooohhhhh Carrie your dc's dad sounds just like my H. That made me so angry just reading that . Cheeky buggers eh. Honestly they just don't get it. Why do they not understand that saying little comments like that could be so upsetting.
I think you should just ignore that comments Carrie and keep going on with your plans for Holiday. It would be great boost just before returning to work. Is there nobody else you can go with? Really don't let it put you off you deserve a nice break. I am all red in the face myself now. I think i should practice what i preach really lol

I don't mind what he says really as it's his way of seeing that I have lost weight and insted of being able to say 'you're doing well' or god forbid someone else might notce me he'll say something to tryto hurt me insted. My tummy does still look a bit peculiar but then I am geting older and hey, lots of other mummies have it so what really

My friend said she'd love to but ca't go until oct and I don't want to the month I go back to work.

if my DH said that to me, my bags would be packed, have no fear (I appreciate he is not your H carrie!) sent long enough taking tosh, never ever again. But would you really want to go away with someone who says things like that to you? A poke in the eye with a sharp stick in order me thinks. Hmph

Carrie how old is your ds now? He can't be that old surely that your tummy should be back to how it was?? Any way enough talk about your tummy sorry.
I watched that film the other night where the lady went on holiday herself and left everyone at home. Oh it was Shirley Valentine. Apart from leaving the kids i think that could be me you know. I could just picture myself on my own flight and sitting at little waterfront Cafe's Ahhhhhhh that would be lovely.

I like early flights too. We went in the middle of the night to tenerife in December and that was very unsociable times but so exciting. Olivia just about wet herself with she was so excited when we woke her up. She ran about telling us all how much she loved us in a sort of mini mouse squeaky voice

Just returned from her second visit to her new school and i had a huge big lump in my throat. I am so proud of my little girl. She has really grown in confidence this last year. We had to meet in a room with all the other parents and it was a bit daunting even for me. The Head teacher asked Olivia what nursery she went to and everyone turned round to look at her and she said the name of her School by mistake and her little face was all pink and the she said Doh!! I felt nervous for her but them i am a wimp. She happily went of with her new teacher and came back laughing and smiling and said "Well mum what did you learn then". Love her to bits.

Ds is 4 months. If I ask twit about saying things like that like when we were together he would look at me in astonishment as it 'was a reasonable enough question' which is true, just very thoughtless and usually for him plain nasty. I just want the dc to have memories of childhood holidays with mummy and daddy and he is a LOT older than me so nice times to remember.

So Sorry Carrie just we have only nice things to say about you and i am a bit sour grapes just now with unthoughtfull comments.
Yes it would agree it would be nice to have they kind of memories of being on holiday with mum and dad but for what it is worth. Not such nice memories if mum and dad are don't get along. [speaking for myself here as i don't really know much about your dc dad]
I have been on many holidays with my nephews without their dad who they adore but they still talk about the good times we had till this day. I think the memories are worth remembering if it is good times to be had. I have a terrible memory and can't really remember hols with my parents. I think i am getting old.

thanks everyone. I've got lots of size 14 dresses I can get into now (though still bit of a funny shape ) but thanks Lillypie that did make me giggle

Yes it is only ever so slightly bigger than the boden 2/3 tee shirts! he has plenty of room don't get me wrong but I don't think it looks stupid either
