What is the best twin side by side stroller that can be used from birth?

I'm pretty set on a side by side rather than a tandem (although I know lots of people hate them).

Can anyone recommend a decent one, I plan to put a newborn in it.

Am considering the maclaren twin techno, silvercross pop duo and obaby twin apex atm.

Thanks.

I'd go for the Mclaren if I were you.
We road tested some the other day and it was best.

my easywalker duo has been utterly fabulous - side by side and can take a carrycot before switching up to two seats - I loved it.

We bought one of these for my toddler and baby as space was a real problem and this folds up really small. But I found it was great for my 2.

My favorite is the Baby Jogger City Mini suitable from birth and so easy to use!

Personally I love the Nipper 260. It is almost a narrow as the techno (only 1cm wider) but has suspension and pneumatic tyres which makes it a much smoother ride for young babies. I can see the appeal of the Techno etc as they fold up small but they are really heavy compared to the Nipper and when I had my 2 youngest in one when they were 3 months and 18 months it was so heavy and hard to push I used it once and got rid of it!
I haven't tried it but I would imagine the Baby jogger one would be similar as it is also light with suspension on the wheels.

Another vote for the Double Nipper - 360 or fixed wheel:
Lightweight
Folds (nearly) flat
very cosy for tiny baby and big enough for toddler (mine were 1 year apart)
Folds to fit in boot of car
Suitable for going off road but will also turn on a penny
Fits through standard door ways

Mine was bough >5 years ago, and I am planning on using it again next year when DS4 is due ... Just a bit as I have boring navy one and now lovely bright red is available...

yes i'd sooner have a nipper over a stroller type double any day, so much easier to push and a comfier ride

I have a Maclaren and love it. Not a huge amount of room for a toddler - but enough - and you need a pretty big boot in your car though - but that's probably true for any double. If two of us go out, we take two singles rather than the double but, having said that, I wouldn't be without it.

THanks all, I meant to say, one of the reasons I want a stroller is to have the two separate handles, I really don't want a single bar. I think I discounted the nipper because of the bar.

I have found having a double with a continuous handle a necessity as often when the older one wanted to walk you would have to push it one handed and that just isn't possible with a 2 handled double.

Thanks daisy, but I won't be able to walk the dog with a single bar (tried before with a single pram with one bar and I couldn't do it - I need to rest the lead round the handle)

i dont get it- have only ever pushed one single bar pushchair- nipper 360- but it was the easiest thing in the world to push, one or two handed! Infact almost one fingered its so easy! Dont understand why you wouldnt be able to walk the dog but then i dont have a dog.
Bought mine new for £330 with all the extras incl cosytoes and then just sold it 12 months later for £260 so pretty good deal i reckon!

The most fantastic twin pram- Nipper 360!! I had the maclaren for my twins and found it very difficult to push. The Nipper is much lighter and easy to push. I also found it useful to have a hand free for my older child, or holding a purse/phone/drink. in fact we were out with it today and my 4 year old DTs still fit!

By the way, have also flown with it many times (ex pats) and found it folded fine and was safely handled each journey.

can you link the dog's lead by looping it through its handle- then you could attach it to the bar?

Thats a shame as more often the case you will have one walking and the double macs are very hard to push one handed (i've done it!!)

I've got a pliko with a toddler step for town and when DD wants to walk. I need a double for walking the dog, DD won't be getting out when I do that.

I need two handles.

And if the toddler step turns out to be rubbish I will buy a buggy board.

But can everyone please stop fixating on getting me to buy a pushchair with a single bar. I need one with two handles.

Thanks for all your answers.
