Toddler stroller: Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 vs Oyster Zero

Hello,

I’m looking for a pushchair/stroller for my 3 y.o. (13 kg), and after researching for a while, I’m torn between the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 or Oyster Zero. BJCM is great for older kids, we’ve used the City Mini for over 5 years for our eldest. The GT2 2020 version looks very sturdy, has a dream weight capacity of 29.5 kg, lies flat and I wouldn’t question BJ’s sturdiness, as our CM has never had a single problem regardless of heavy use for 5 years. But the downside is that it doesn’t have enough storage, with 2 kg additional weight compared to our current BJCM.

Has anyone ever had an experience with Oyster Zero? I haven’t seen it in real life, so only from online videos. It looks ideal for older kids (although only 20 kg vs GT2’s 29.5 kg), has good storage capacity, has luxurious look, cheaper than the GT2, lies flat and seems to have good padded seat. My doubt is about the sturdiness, as I’ve never used Oyster before, and saw some reviews which mentioned a lot of problems with Oyster (some people went back and forth with problems such as with its chassis, brake, wheels etc).

I’ve never had any such problems with Baby Jogger, and am hesitant to buy other strollers that might be problematic. That said, the Oyster Zero seems like a great buy, provided it’s sturdy and doesn’t bring any problems.

Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Hey, did you end up buying the Oyster? I had it, and I was very happy with it (I mean, the [[https://strollberry.com/strollers/babystyle-oyster-zero/ Oyster Zero has rather good reviews]]) - BUT it is a much lighter, therefore less sturdi stroller imho. The suspension is very nice, but the smaller foam wheels are simply less terrain capable - at least, when you compare it to the BJCMGT2.

My advice would be to go for the BJ, if you are used to BJ pushchairs. You will be happy with it. Or did you go for the OyZero? I would be rather curious how you feel about your choice.
