Hi everyone!

We're just about to start researching, testing and reviewing the best lightweight buggies for 2020 and we'd love to hear which products you'd recommend.

If you've used (and loved!) a particular buggy, then please do tell us about it on this thread. This will help us to create a shortlist of products to put to the test over the next few months.

Thank you!

Babyzen yo-yo

Ergobaby Metro!

Babyzen yoyo for its light weight. I’m not actually a huge fan overall - it feels rickety to me, and it is awful on cobbles or even remotely off road (like going over grass or gravel in the park). But I have to admit it is super-light, and being able to take it on a plane is incredibly useful for holidays.

We hired one for a couple of weeks when DS was about six months old (to take on holiday), and while I was quite glad to get back to our Babyjogger it did exactly as promised. I think my issue is with super-light pushchairs in general (they don’t really meet our needs), but the Yoyo was good within the limitations of that type of buggy.

Chicco ooh lala. It's so easy to open and fold up and very light. I love it!!

Garfieldsarm · 20/11/2019 18:58

City Jogger Mini GT. A welcome breath of relief after my shitty iCandy Cherry that I very nearly abandoned in a car park one wet and windy day when it wouldn't fold up and go in the fucking boot.

The Silver Cross Reflex is a lovely buggy. You can hang bags off the back and it won’t tip over. It’s sturdy and comfortable, even for newborns as it has a robust memory foam head hugger. My only issue is that it gets heavy as the baby gets bigger. Additionally, it is quite large when folded compared to other umbrella folds.

The Maclaren Triumph is brilliant for those who want a very compactly folded and lightweight buggy. It’s good quality and will last for many children. Nevertheless, it’s 6 months+ and doesn’t lie flat or have a footrest so is better for short journeys or older children.

I’m going to try the Maclaren Quest or Silver Cross Zest for my next child as it will hopefully be something in between the above.

Can anyone who has the Woosh or Woosh 2 give me a rough idea on the seat size please? I want to get it but I can find the actual seat measurements so thought I’d ask here before emailing Cosatto thanks 😊

GB Qbit +
Great looking buggy. Not flimsy. Easy to fold. I love!

TiggeryBear · 20/11/2019 22:12

I've recently bought a My Babiie Ultra light stroller from Aldi to use for my small 17 month old. It's pretty sturdy despite feeling quite flimsy. It's extremely light & very easy to push. I'd definitely recommend it for perhaps babies that can sit unaided as I don't feel the seat is particularly supportive for long periods of time. It's perhaps more suitable for use as a spare/ holiday buggy. The seat to hood height is quite low so would possibly not be suitable if you have a tall child.
I realise that there's a lot of negative points there; but overall I do like the pushchair & it suits my needs well.

We also bought the My Babiie Ultra light stroller from ALDI, bought it with the specific reason that we needed a lightweight buggy for holiday. It’s apparently suitable for newborns, without an insert it’s not as there is no support. We bought a summer car seat insert with neck support and took it on holiday for our 6 week old a few weeks ago.
Easy to use and light, fold compactly. The hood doesn’t offer much sun protection however with a sun shade (again from summer) this was solved.
It travelled well, easy to use. I’d recommend as was fairly priced.

Silver Cross Avia, only 5.5kg so lighter than the Yoyo or Jet. Used it from newborn and we've used it every day for 18m, it still looks as good as new. Lies flat for naps, DD will nap for 2+ hours in it with a Snoozeshade. One handed steering, light enough to carry up stairs with baby in it, narrow enough to fit through normal tube barriers and tiny shop aisles and folds quickly on the fly so you can get on a bus even when all the buggy spaces are taken.

We just bought a couple of Joie Nitros for our twins for times when we can’t take a double buggy and when folded they’re a few cm too long for our boot! We have a polo so not the smallest car in the world. Worth bearing in mind.

dimdarkashian · 21/11/2019 10:56

Joie Nitro

SoftBlocks · 21/11/2019 12:09

Bugaboo Bee - great handling and only about 7 kg weight I think.

User24689 · 21/11/2019 12:47

Another vote for the GB pockit. Folds really small!

sherbetmelon · 21/11/2019 12:54

Babyzen yoyo!

mistyy · 21/11/2019 14:13

I have the evenflo xpand and I absolutely love it it is a convertible stroller goes from single to double easily but is very light weigh has large storage compartment and a cup holder but that's not even the beat part!

It comes with a infant car seat that attached to the stroller!! So you can take out the car seat plot it into the wheels and it becaomes a stroller straight away (not by putting a car seat on top of a stroller that has a seat already) and it comes with a pram that converts from infant to toddler which can be interchanged with the car seat to click into the stroller or you can have both!

The wheels are so easy to move and it has adjustable handles also the seats are adjustable once inside the stroller it can recline all the way back (the pram) so the baby can have a nap during a stroll through the park, or can be at an angle for baby's with reflux (mine lol) and the both seats can be facing you or facing out

The only thing I didn't like was the little thing you have to squeeze to close the stroller and compact it. Closing it was fine but I could never open it (I'm weak) so tbh I broke it off 😂. So mine does close but if at a wrong angle it would open . If your stronger than me shouldn't be a problem.

I honestly love this stroller and will be set if I have a second child I don't need to buy anything else and I only paid $599 (Canadian) everything. I got it from toys R us because the website was too much work for me.

Good luck and I'm not paid anything by anyone I just love it and it's made shopping so easy because I just put what I need in the stroller storage and check out instead of taking baby out into a shopping cart too much work that way.

Sorry for the long post

infoneeded1 · 22/11/2019 13:20

We have the babyzen. Has served us well for long haul travel and walks on uneven terrain. At the time I believe it was the lightest on the market, not sure if that has changed.

SparkyBlue · 08/12/2019 07:22

@drowsy @fellyjish I have been looking at the minu so I am delighted to hear good reviews. I got the uppababy glux five years ago and it's taken a lot of battering and still great but looking very shabby so I'd like something nice.

fellyjish · 08/12/2019 09:01

@SparkyBlue used it properly yesterday, handles really nicely and could easily manoeuvre with one hand (unlike the cosatto stroller we had given to us!)

SparkyBlue · 14/12/2019 13:09

@fellyjish the uppababys are really fabulous so we are going to seriously consider it. What color did you get?

fellyjish · 15/12/2019 20:27

@SparkyBlue the black one as that's the one I could find for 50% off! Think I'd have gone jade otherwise!

SparkyBlue · 16/12/2019 08:50

@fellyjish my glux is the jade colour so I wanted something different. I'd rather not get black but like you said it's the only one on offer.

FenellaMaxwell · 16/12/2019 08:56

Baby zen yo-yo here too - we had w cosatto giggle 2 when DS was a baby baby, but swapped to the yo-yo when he was about 18 months and it’s fab.
