We live in a city with a few cobbles in the town centre pram will be mainly used for in and out of the car and on buses when DP is at work
Bugaboo Bee 3 is one we love not really sure about others we'd like parent facing and rhe the only car seat i feel is safe is the maxi cosi pebble so it needs adapters for that Smile

I think I would have recommended the bugaboo 3. Maybe not many replies as people might not have the cobbles problem!

On the much cheaper side of the spectrum I had and loved a babystyle oyster pushchair. Coped fine with cobbles. Faced parent or outwards and most importantly fitted on the bus with ease.

baby jogger city versa? Easy walker mosey or June? Uppababy cruz or vista? Tbh almost every pram frame will take a maxi cosi car seat it is pretty generic and you are able to buy adaptors for most of the well known brands.

MrsPeabody · 01/03/2015 22:10

I love the bjcm, but does it parent face?

AnythingNotEverything · 01/03/2015 22:18

I love the Vista. Do you have a budget?

myusernameisusername · 01/03/2015 23:27

Budget of about £1,500 including accessories car seat and 2way base ive been looking at off road prams now as we have recently got a dog so go off road into nature reserves so i think the Mountain Buggy urban would be better for us I've looked online and it's parent facing if you buy a separate seat unit im not sure of the brand or anything though

I live in a heavily cobbled city and the Icandy peach has been great for us. We've also got a Pebble which fits onto it with adapters. It's sturdy over bumpy surfaces and folds easily.

myusernameisusername · 02/03/2015 00:10

I think the bee will be out of the question now Sad the mud tracks we walk through are about 6 inches thick and theres wooded paths etc your basic nature trail it would nevwr make it out it one piece have seen the new 2015 icandy it looks good its a peach3 with air tyres that will handle off roading

OP posts:
queentroutoftrouts · 02/03/2015 09:27

With that budget you could choose almost anything, I would go for a bugaboo buffalo.

myusernameisusername · 02/03/2015 09:40

Wanting 3 air tyres i don't like the buffalo Smile think the urban is perfect for us just need to find some reviews

NishyM · 02/03/2015 11:56

Completely agree with McFox, ICandy Peach has been great for me on all surfaces.

myusernameisusername · 02/03/2015 14:05

Even rough terrain like thick mud tracks etc

Baby Jogger City Versa GT.

The Cybex Aton Q actually has better crash test results than the pebble!!

Ihateparties · 02/03/2015 14:33

I hated my peach whenever it ventured off a nicely paved path so I disagree on the normal 4 wheel peach, there are many more appropriate things for your lifestyle. The urban is probably a really good choice. If you want something more seriously off road then you could have a look at Bob pushchairs.

AnythingNotEverything · 02/03/2015 16:02

I would seriously think about a sling for dog walking.

myusernameisusername · 02/03/2015 21:37

No a sling wouldn't work for walks id fall over on the rough ground Blush id rather the baby be safe in a big pram. DH says 3 wheels are unstable compared to four wheel prams and taking it on public transport would be hard because the front wheel goes all over the place and tips the pram over Hmm is he right

queentroutoftrouts · 02/03/2015 22:03

I would maybe reconsider air tyres as going over a lot of rough ground could lead to a lot of flat tyres and punctures.

JellyTipisthebest · 02/03/2015 23:01

Mountain buggies are great quality they last for years and years. I live in NZ and their are some on trade me that are at least 10 years old and are still fine.

I wonder if mountain buggy will bring out a carrycot plus like they have for the duet (double pushchair) as it is a carry cot and a parent facing seat. Might be worth looking at the deut as its the same width as the urban and you can make it a single.

3 wheel s are staple but its the size of the wheels that makes it easy to push on rough ground. I have a pushchair that looks like a britax b duel but it has 4 air tyres. Its a dream to push its not available in the uk though.

lentilpot · 03/03/2015 02:39

For that budget I would get two - one for off road and one for town and transport.

TwoLittleTerrors · 03/03/2015 03:25

Pushing a pram over muddy fields is seriously hardwork. The tyres really sinks into the mud no matter what tyres you have. Sometimes we end up lifting the darn thing up the ground. There are also tree roots to go over in tracks. You can't push over those. This is serious mud in forest or fields though. I'm not sure how off road you are talking about. The only thing that works consistently are slings and baby carriers.

TwoLittleTerrors · 03/03/2015 03:26

Imagjne a car in a muddy field.

AnythingNotEverything · 03/03/2015 08:49

If you're walking somewhere with ground so rough you worry about falling, you aren't going to find a pram that copes with it.

How often do you fall? What makes you think you'll fall more often with a sling?

AnythingNotEverything · 03/03/2015 08:51

And in terms of safety, baby will have a lot less head wobble on rough ground wrapped up on your chest in a sling. Stretchy slings, like a caboo close, are ideal.
