Hi all,

Can anyone help? With my DS I ha a Loola.. Needed something for everyday use, hated it and went through several buggies thereafter.. Pop, Luna, ICandy apple, zia...
Anyway I'm FINALLY pg with DC2, and am
Now a driver yay! Only downside is my boot is tiny! Its a Hyundai i10.

Can anyone please advise me of a travel system which folds small? Preferably two piece? I have so far looked at nania beebop, oyster, mychild mezzo and pinto, an obaby zezu... I like all of these but don't know how small they will fold... It must be suitable from birth, and not look ugly vain!, I'm unsure of pump tyres too... Ideally both pieces would fit in my boot but I'm not wholly against a piece here and there (within reason).

No real price limit but I prefer cheaper purely as I chop and change, although quality is important and would pay more for it! I have heard mixed things about the bugaboo bee....

Thanks ladies

Thoughts on the norton pure anyone?

Some iCandys seem to have a long wait for a new one currently.. long as in september etc. Urgh. I keep seeing the Norton pure online but never in RL. Looks okay. If I had my time again I'm sure the Oyster would be up there. Equally though if you plan to revert to your zia in about a year then size doesn't matter so much except for the car. Loads of options, it'll be fun trying them all out!

This might help with fold size comparisons - scroll down to the bottom. The Oyster and Pinto are there, along with the iCandy Peach and Cherry and the Bugaboo Bee. There are more photos under the pages for each pushchair in a car boot, folded etc. There are photos of the Mutsy Evo folded here.

BBisTitanium · 12/05/2012 22:45

I do love the zia and would probably mix use from about 8 months depending on location etc

Tiggy that evo is rather nice, have you had one? Are nortons and mutsys widely sold? anything from JOhn lewis is a plus as i get 25% off Grin

Yes I have an Evo here. I have to say, its really surprised me. Its very like an Oyster, but better...better seating positions, and better quality. It lies flat for a newborn and very bolt upright for an older toddler. Although it doesn't fold in both directions and the basket is a little shallow at the rear. The fold is pretty small because the handlebar tucks right under, and the seat unit, if you remove it, folds really small and neatly too.
Nortons and Mutsy's tend to really only be found in the independent nursery shops. Mutsy have a store finder on their website. LOL re JL - can I be your friend please?

BBisTitanium · 13/05/2012 07:06

Ohh that sounds so tempting! Its definitely going on the list! The JL discount is through DP's step nan... Have to jump through hoops to get it but its getting me a pink lining bag, a gliding crib and a sleigh cot bed on the cheap so cant complain haha Grin

The Jane Nurse isn't compatible with all of the Jane carry cots/car seats. Most of the Jane's use the pro-fix system but the Nurse doesn't. However, the Nurse carrycot can be strapped into the car like a lie-flat car seat but it is bulky and quite heavy.

I have been gifted a Jane Nomad and have purchased a Matrix car seat for it - that's the one that converts to lie-flat and can be used in that position in the car or attached to the pushchair.

BBisTitanium · 13/05/2012 11:54

Ah thanks for clearing that up, i dont think i will go for a jane now as the nurse colours are so "busy" my heads been turned by the evo, and im concerned cheap = poor quality. I like the rider but it isnt price competitive to the big brands. My shortlist is now the evo, the norton pure and the oyster with a play required on the icandy's... Grin

Hi - I'm sure you've looked already, but in case you haven't there are hundreds of reviews of Travel Systems in Mumsnet Reviews

BBisTitanium · 13/05/2012 12:16

Ohh i hadnt thought of that! Thanks Grin

I wouldn't consider the Jane Nurse either although I don't think there's any issue with their quality as such and I actually like the Jane Nomad a lot (and it gets solid reviews). However, it is my 'second' pushchair to be used for dog walking so I can preserve my first choice (iCandy Strawberry) in prisitine resellable condition Grin

BBisTitanium · 13/05/2012 15:04

Ahh i schee! Do you rate your strawb? Is it worth the hefty price tag?

Unfortunately, I've only had the chance to play with the iCandy Strawb in the shop as baby isn't due til next month. I considered it and the Bugaboo Cameleon along with a few others (Babyjogger Versa and Easywalker June but neither of those will be available in time for baby's arrival). The iCandy is the most expensive but it ticks all my boxes as I want something that folds in one piece while facing either direction. And it should hold it's value better than the others should we decide to resell it.

BBisTitanium · 13/05/2012 16:33

Ah i like the strawb but hubby hates the design of the cam, i am thinking I will drive alot with kids as DS will be 3.2 so still wont walk far (reluctant walker anyway which fed the addiction) so am wondering if the strawb would be overkill price wise... But as you say they do hold the resale value... Decisions decisions!

Honestly, with a 25% discount, I'd buy a Peach 2, Peach Jogger or Strawberry. iCandys hold their value well and you'd be paying so little (relatively!) that you'll get most of your money back when you sell. If you got a Peach, carrycot, footmuff and carseat adapters for example, you'd pay about £700. Then you should get a good £600 when you sell as a rough estimation. And they're gorgeous. :o

BBisTitanium · 15/05/2012 12:36

In my head i just cant rationalise paying that much... I had an apple which admittedly sold well. I thing it will come dow to the fold on the peach
