I am in the process of writing a blog post on this subject, and wondering if you'd like to share your own thoughts?

With regards to the pram you're using now..... if you could change ONE thing about it, what would it be & why?

I'll start.

I'm using a Graco Symbio B and if I would change the lack of storage. I'd either make the basket bigger, or even some pram clips to hold my shopping. It really would be perfect then.

What about you?

I'm using too many at the moment to choose one feature...But i wish Graco made a bigger pushchair than the Citisport but one a bit smaller than my Urbanlite which is basically a Metrosport but with single front wheels...I could probably use that as my only pushchair.

Honeydragon · 12/04/2012 13:06

I used my Cameleon today and I wish that would fold with the seat on.

Honeydragon · 12/04/2012 13:08

And to add my perfect pushchair would probably be the Bastard Streety if they made it actually, like you know, nice to push, and maybe able to do stuff like go up and down kerbs.

WishYouWereMine · 12/04/2012 13:08

I'd widen the gap between the brake bar and the seat on my Bee in parent-facing mode.
It's tricky to get your foot in to open it up!

nickelhasababy · 12/04/2012 13:11

mine's a silver cross.
it turns into a buggy, but a forward-facing one.
and it's only big enough to be a pram until 4-6 months.
which is very annoying, because i'd like her to face me until about a year.

Atreegrowsinbrooklyn · 12/04/2012 13:13

Might I suggest for all those pram pushing parents, a buggy that detects when a person makes space on a pavement for it and automatically says 'Thank you' seeing as most parents seem to forget to do this.

Iambaboon · 12/04/2012 13:14

P&t explorer. Needs a nubile young man to push it to be lighter

nickelhasababy · 12/04/2012 13:15

i always say thank you.
and i make room if it's more expedient for me than them.

Atreegrowsinbrooklyn · 12/04/2012 13:16

Thank you Nickel, because so many parents do not. I'm on verge of no longer moving onto the kerb/road to make space because of the rudeness.

Iambaboon · 12/04/2012 13:20

Yeah that's right most pram pushing parents need a lesson in manners

Pot. Kettle. Black.

Atreegrowsinbrooklyn · 12/04/2012 13:29

Out of every 10 prams i have made space for, barely 2 thank me. It is rare to be thanked in my very middle class area especially if parents/parent and friend are merrily chatting away to each other. It is so unusual to be acknowledged that I always notice it so cut the sarcasm, Iamababoon.

nickelhasababy · 12/04/2012 13:38

i'm polite Grin

(but do the passive aggressive under my breath thing if someone doesn't acknowledge. i accept a smile as a thanks too)

Atreegrowsinbrooklyn · 12/04/2012 13:50

Smiles and nods are good. Sometimes (if I've been rudely barged off the pavement or other rudeness) I'll ask them why they do not acknowledge my moving. Sometimes I have said 'Thank you, that's ok' loudly as I pass.

Too many rude parents pushing their little princelings doomed to grow up as self absorbed and entitled as their parents.

I had a Bebe Confort pram to pushchair with the adjustable handlebar length and gorgeous chassis shape and padded seat just to stay on topic. I adored it especially as it had the largest basket ever. I love the French design.

Honeydragon · 12/04/2012 13:50

oh god I have a awful habit Blush

With the Dc's if I do something for them I always automatically say "your welcome", before they can even talk to encourage them to say thank you. And always say it to them now to prevent forgetting cos "it's only Mum", and getting into bad habits.

It's second nature now, so if I move hold the door open whatever on completion I say "You're welcome", regardless of whether they have said thank you are not. So regularly get red faced people turning and saying thank you.

The very worst thing is I never even noticed till dh pointed out this habit, and I still can't stop myself.

I do have very polite children though. Grin

Honeydragon · 12/04/2012 13:51

aaaargh reading that back, I must look such a dick when I do it!

I would take the city mini and give it more height for the baby to see the world as we do instead of 20cm above the ground-floor-fumes-dog levels...

thomasbodley · 12/04/2012 15:51

Claps atreegrowsinbrooklyn

So many pram-pushing parents have atrocious manners. I'm afraid I've been known to say, "Don't bother to say thank you, will you?" on my way past.

I become similarly furious when people fail to acknowledge cars giving way, so it's not an anti-parent thing.

I also loathe LOATHE parents who take their children onto the quiet and first carriages of trains, and into business class on planes. For fuck's sake, unless your child has a career, it doesn't need to be there.

Yes, Second Coming, HOW absurd of me to want to work on my presentation in peace and quiet in the carriage of that name in order to earn a living.

Because of course my right to earn a living is somehow secondary to your right to a table and your chldren's right to asser their personalities.

Safmellow · 12/04/2012 16:06

I remember my elderly mum being barged by two people walking side by side with buggies and shouting 'do I LOOK like a helicopter??' Grin

I also on an almost daily basis when pushing mine in town hang back to leave space for other prams/wheelchairs/less mobile people, only for someone to quickly jump in front of me as though I am invisible! I feel like a hologram.

I think you just get rude people, sometimes they are pushing a pram, sometimes not!

Can't think of anything I would change about my BJCM, unless they invent self cleaning wheels. Or a loud recorded voice shouting 'MAKE SURE YOU'VE FASTENED THE SAFETY POPPERS!' Blush

TeWihara · 12/04/2012 16:20

1st class isn't 'business only class' it's 'loaded people only class' including children. HTH.

I have a rear or front facing pushchair (Kiddicare summant or other), I have had a lovely umbrella fold suitable from birth front facing pushchair (Silvercross Pop)

I want to mash them together so I get an umbrella fold rear/forward facing light pushchair with good storage.

I will pay big bucks!

thomasbodley · 12/04/2012 16:26

Clearly they made their money too quickly for their brats to acquire any manners along the way Tweihira Wink

NoMoreRoom · 12/04/2012 16:28

I have a Nipper 360° for 10 month old twins.

I would like another seat for DD (28 weeks gestation!)

No?

I would like pushchairs that come with a shopping basket and raincover as standard. When I bought DS' (he's 9 now) we got these things, seems that somewhere to put shopping and something to protect LO's from rain are luxuries nowadays Hmm (general comment)

4 seater
I would love to see a triple pushchair with the same design. I have found plenty of twin and toddler buggies, or triple stollers. This is designed for twins and 2 toddlers. They need a triple that has babyseat and twin toddlers.

Would be great if anyone knows of one!! I am tempted to buy the T4 quad one and use extra 'babyseat' to carry all the stuff needed when out with 6 children. Grin
