You are only allowed to pick one or the other.

Which one and why? which will have better resale too?

oh and folded in the car, for say holidays days out is the Cam massively bigger than the Bee folded? I keep hearing opposing views.

No, the Cam is not massively bigger. But it depends on the shape of your car boot. The Cam is much flatter folded - it fits under the folded roof of my convertible. The Bee wouldn't fit because of the curved bars. But the Bee will in a smaller space if I put it in diagonally and keep the roof up, but then I lose half my boot space underneath it! I wouldn't say length wise there wasn't much difference folded, but I am sure there is width wise. But the Cam wheels do pop off easily.

The Bee is flimsy, awkward, the seat falls off constantly, you have to hop on one leg whilst holding onto the wall to unfold it parent facing. Thats the tip of the niggly bits only because I dont have time to write the full review! The fold is incredibly neat and smart though. But TBH it takes just a few seconds longer to set up the Cam chassis and its definitely easier to change direction of the seat.

My question would really be how tall is the child. A small ie just 2 year old I would get the Cam. For an almost 3 year old (unless small) I would get the Bee. The main criteria for me would be head room / if you dont mind the canopy removing. But the Cam will take you more places - the Bee really is a city, pavement pushchair. If you said you were just nipping in and out from the car into say a shop or doctors then the Bee would suffice but holidays usually mean seeing some grass or sand or something not pavementy????

Frigg wanted a Bee really badly - and she came back with an iCandy :) She said it was rickety and didn't like it.

Does that help?

I was hoping you'd be around Tiggy Grin

I had a bargain Cam but only kept it 5 minutes as I was enamoured with my Bee+ at the time and still had the Vigour. So I never folded the Cam other than to post it when I sold it, as I needed cash and new I'd get good price fr the Cam Sad.

We have a 4x4 and generally the arch on the Bee+ is our issue so sometimes take the wheel off. Sounds like the Cam might pack better then?

I had been considering getting a Micralite for holidays to go over sand and bumpy terrain, and because they are supposed to fold small. But if I have the Cam and it doesn't take up masses of space I should be ok for holidays to the seaside Smile

However you know my previous issues / history with the Bee+ and things have come to a head recently with Bugaboo. So basically if I swap a 1 year old Bee+ for a new Cam do you think I'll regret it?

DD is 2.3 and short/small so head space isn't an issue and the harness on the Bee is a nightmare even for small toddlers

You probably have more experience of the Bee than I do then :) I had a Cam for probably the longest pushchair though! Half the problem with the Cam is a) the basket - so the more you squash it down / dont fill and leave it with junk as I did - its no issue empty but its so tempting to leave stuff in!! and b) the stuff you add to the seat unit. If you add on the fleecy cover thing that comes with the Cam, and then a footmuff, then you are building bulk up. I think the Cam would be great for holidays. We live by the seaside and our Cam was constantly taken to the beach - the handle flips into rear wheel mode, or two wheel mode, or even get snow wheels (we didnt need them). I think if you strip the wheels off then the chassis should just slide in and minus padding and with the bumper bar off, the seat unit is pretty slim too. I am absolutely desperate to get a Cam back into this house.....however the Donkey is on the way first before we say goodbye to doubles forever.

I dont think you will regret the Cam - its just seat size that would be my worry TBH but it sounds like you dont think that will be an issue. Worst case, you dont like the Cam you can sell it to me you can sell it on and try again :) The Cameleon is a really lovely pushchair.

Honeydragon · 20/03/2012 19:15

tbh I find the bees seat height a myth as it slips down too easy. DD rarely has the canopy down so as long as the seat itself on the Cam isn't shorter than the Bee in seat height I have no issues. I'll pm you about the Bee after bathtime.

So what colour scheme? I'm thinking Sand as I don't like the grey / colour combos?

BrassMonkeyBaubles · 20/03/2012 20:06

The cam is better than the bee + IMO by miles. The sand bases look lovely. Much nicer than that awful industrial grey!
I liked the red covers or blue on sand base. The off white (cream) covers looked stunning! Really pretty for summer or winter and made it look v classy!

fairimum · 20/03/2012 20:28

get an uppababy vista!!! I MUCH preferred it to the cam :)

Honeydragon · 20/03/2012 20:34

fairimum Grin

It's Bee or Cam it has to be a Bugaboo, no choice.

But yes the Vista s a fantastic pram Smile

Honeydragon · 20/03/2012 20:36

ooooh

so sand base and off white?

or sand and sand?

OP posts:
tara0202 · 20/03/2012 21:05

My nearly 3 year old still fits in the cam. Loads of room.

Heswall · 20/03/2012 21:19

I like sand and off white and with an off white footmuff for winter.

Tiggywunkle · 20/03/2012 21:21

Sand and Jade Green?? Or off white.

Honeydragon · 20/03/2012 21:26

not allowed ltd ed colours and had green last time.

All sand is probably more sensible than sand and white for a toddler though Grin

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 20/03/2012 21:35

Decision made then :o

Honeydragon · 20/03/2012 21:44

hah! ironically she is falling asleep on my lap and asked for the blue one. Not happening, I have had enough of blue Grin

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 20/03/2012 22:11

Aww let her choose :) :o

Tiggywunkle · 20/03/2012 22:11

Meanie Mummy .....is it the DD who got Smurfed????

Honeydragon · 20/03/2012 22:25

It is smurfed dd yes. Wink

Right looked again

Base options are: brown, charcoal, sand, red

Fabrics are: orange, black, blue, brown, off white, pink, sand and red.

Red is out as that's what I have on the bee.

Loads of people round here have sand/brown mixes or charcoal/red charcoal/blue.

So it's Sand and Sand or Pink and Charcoal

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 20/03/2012 22:53

Charcoal and blue :o
DD clearly likes blue and I thought the idea was to entice her back into feeling happy in her pushchair
wicked siding-with-traumatised-blue-loving-DD grins

Tiggywunkle · 20/03/2012 22:53

Ok, that clearly didn't work did it...never mind!

Honeydragon · 20/03/2012 23:04

Ha nice try! She happily gets into any pushchair that is not a Bee!

I think it's going to end up Sand, mainly because I really dislike the Bugaboo Grey, it always looks at bit grubby.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 20/03/2012 23:57

Sand and Blue then [wunk] to get you in the mood for your beach trips in summer :)

Honeydragon · 21/03/2012 09:18

Bloody hell Tiggy!

I was already to email Bugaboo and order all Sand! Now I feel guilty. I'm never going to get it ordered am I?

I don't know what to chooooooooooooose.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 21/03/2012 12:11

I am only joking ;) Order all sand for you and enjoy it ;)
But the blue might serve as a reminder to hang your clothes on hangers to dry and never iron again!

Honeydragon · 21/03/2012 12:40

I am never ironing unless smurf is sleeping. As she never naps I am never ironing againGrin

I ordered the Sand on the basis that she had changed her mind to Orange earlier Hmm

I like the red base with black fabrics too - but it seemed easier just to go with all the same colour.
