Bugaboo Footmuffs.......Really?

Are they worth nearly £100?

When I see them out and about they always definitely look "used". They can't all be ancient Grin They do look snug, but I'm wondering whether I'll regret the purchase? They also seem very bulky , would this mess up folding my Bee?

I have a posh bugs one on my Bee that is fine as dd is nearly two and likes to be in and out. Should I stick with that or by a proper one?

they are bulky, but they are so warm, but they drive me mad as the inside seems to attract fluff and bits, but the outside of mine still look new, i have a blue one and a black one. have you looked on ebay for one

I have one I am not sure I like it, it seems good in that it might be waterproof but it seems rather bulky and rather short for toddlers.

I don't want to use it as I may return it. In fact even if I do keep it I am returning it as they sent the wrong colour Grin

Most of the used ones I have seen look very bobbly on the inside?

I have to say, I use mine all the time. It's brilliant. You don't have blankets hanging off, nor do you need to worry about coats and taking them on and off in warm shops. Just unzip. They are also dead handy for chucking your keys/toys/snacks into the zipped up foot bit at the bottom! A very worthwhile purchase and easy to wash too.

i didn't buy one for DS and bought a generic. It was a real pain

so i bit the bullet and bought one for DD - it's great! so easy and snug. would definitely recommend

but i have a cameleon, not a bee

i thought they were big, although i am shocked by the price of them now, i am sure when i bought mine they were around 70 maybe 60 and the blue one came with the cameleon i bought a a month ago. i don't think i would want to pay 100 for a footmuff

I've loved the 2 Frog ones i've had plus one for the Cameleon...But i prefer my custom ones.

I regretted buying the universal footmuff for my Bee+. It all but trails on the ground, and gets under my feet when I do steps. Which I do a lot, I bought a Bee, didn't I? They know I've got a lot of steps, right? Looks a nice fit on the Chameleon, though.

don't know, i always had the raincover on if it rained! looks like it may be shower proof.

Suzie I like them on the frog|cam but not sure about the bee. My poshbugs was custom for the bee so nice and slim.

I have the bugaboo one for my Cameleon and it is deffo worth it.
I have had generic ones on other prams and they always slipped down and never sat right but this one fits in all the right places fits over the seat until and over the back and so never shifts about.

It is shower proof I would say it has taken a fair soaking and ds2 came out dry but it was starting to creep up a bit damp inside after that soaking but it was a pretty heavy rain we got caught in.

yes, they do sit nice in a pushchair, much better than any of my other footmuffs do. i have to rearrange the other footmuffs, but the bugaboo one i don't, it just stays put.

no, the very short time i owned a bee, i bought the bee footmuff [at the time they did different footmuffs for the bee and cam] and i only sat it in the bee, but then the bee broke and i took it all back Sad so only tried a cameleon one, in a cameleon and other pushchairs.

I got a John Lewis own brand generic fleece one in a contrasting colour to my Bee in winter 2009 and it was fab and about £20, I think. I can't remember if it was at all waterproof as DS was titchy then and the rain hood still fitted.

Hmmmm I do like it but it's bulkiness puts me off. And the fact that bugaboo upped the price and lessened the options Hmm

Suzie if they cost the same and you had the money would you buy custom or bugaboo?

i wonder why they stopped doing one for the bee and one for the cameleon!! it makes sense them being different as the bee is so much smaller than the cameleon and folds different

I know it's annoying, my poshbugs has 4 loops to fold over the top, whereas the Bugaboo only has 2 so looks as if it will move a bit.

To be honest i've found no difference...Just with the customs, i've always had the matching hood...Only brand new one i got was with Snunkie for my Bee+ but it took so long arriving it never really got used and then i sold the Bee...Customs are a cheaper if brand new of course...My Frog came with the matching footmuff and i used that one on my Citisport mostly...Then when i bought my new navy Citisport, i bought a navy Frog footmuff off ebay...with the Frog ones you have drawstrings so you can make it fit other pushchairs easier whereas the Cameleon ones are just shaped so wouldn't work so well in smaller pushchairs if you want to use it elsewhere...I've a lovely burgundy flower Cameleon that i'll put on my Donkey soon but it'll also work fine when i get a Xari.

i have a cutom made one by snunkie for my bugaboo, i love it. actually i have that and a seat liner and co-ordinating hood. i need to dig them out to use with dd, but i found it great and the desing of it was good as it had a bit that went over the back of the seat and down a few inches and a drawstring to pull it snug so there was no way it would move and slip down in the seat etc, i am sure it was by snunkie? i need to get it out and have a look. very reasonably priced as well. i looked at the bugaboo ones and thought they were way overpriced and far to chunky, plus it doesnt get that cold in the uk!

it wasnt that cold really! mine was fine with coat and footmuff and hat etc, i just pulled the footmuff right up to his chin and zipped it up, he always has his 'diddies'/blanket in with him as well, not that it provided much warmth as its so full of holes lol!

Now my DD refused to wear a hat, gloves and wouldn't put her hands in the footmuff and there's no way she'd have tolerated it being zipped up high...Hoping being 2.5 this year means she'll be slightly more sensible in such matters!!!
