Teutonia Spirit 3 vs Herqules Raptor 3

PramsGalore I need you!

I have narrowed things down to these two, both of which are on ebay ending next weekend. I know they're both big heavy brutes but I'll need off-road daily living on a farm, and boot space isn't a problem (we have an estate car and a pickup truck).

I suspect they may sell for a similar price.....

The teutonia will take a maxi-cosi car seat (which we know fits in my estate car) whereas I think the Herqules only takes a britax (which we don't know if it fits) but both pushchairs come with carrycots....

Does anyone have any experience of these? I'm trying to persuade OH to let me buy both, and then sell on the one I prefer least, but he's not letting me so far....

i really dont know the herqules you are looking at is well used although perhaps within a week or so using it on a farm its going to look well used anyway lol, but the teutonia i hated because the basket was difficult to get into with the seat facing you, the seat seemed really low, i never got the nak of taking off the seat and i had to have the front wheel replaced on my model as it kept jamming it would not do it all the time just if you caught a rut at the wrong angle resulting in the front wheel jamming and being ripped out of its housing requiring me to balance the pushchair whilst holding the front up and trying to put the wheel back on all while my dd was sitting in it nightmere, found out through googling and their website that my model had been recalled and needed a new front wheel (which they sent out with no problem) but this really put me off and i sold it on explaining that it had a new front wheel as it was replaced through a recall (you could see it had a new front wheel).I have seen a few people have said they loved their teutonia so may be you could buy both and try them out, i would buy the herqules but thats just me. however if you really could manage with out parent facing (you could use a carrycot for the first 6 months which would be parent facing) i would recommend a mountain buggy they are built for off roading, i own one and they are so easy to push and are great off road but they are not parent facing!!!

I have just brought a Herqules raptor spin off eBay. It is a beast. Didn't know a britax fitted it.

My partner wants me to sell it. I have said no way!

Prams thanks very much for the feedback on the Teutonia, that's very useful. We seem to have been spared making an urgent choice as its been withdrawn again from ebay!

But i'm still leaning towards the Herqules - thank you for the extra link showing that poorly listed one. Now, can I get OH to agree to the camo one??? Hmm

I think its a good beast. My Dp thinks its a beast that I will never use. I disagree. Just cant wait for baby to be here so I can try it.

Imagine it will be fab for a farm. Mine doesnt have the hard carrycot but a carrycot insert IYKWIM.

i know it costs more but i do like this one more than the red, i would not think it would go much higher in price as it is has a high starting price already. go for it good luck and let me know if you get it and what you think :o

I must confess I love the red.... Am a bit worried about getting parts/replacement rain cover for it...

raincover wont be a problem, i got a universal one for a three wheeler as it was half the price of the mountain buggy one, as for spares i dont know, i would think you may be able contact the company direct if you needed to, although you would have this problem with any second hand pushchair you would have to contact the company, i like the other one because its different. :o i always worry about buying second hand but never stops me :)

Yes, the other one is very different, and part of me loves it too, although my practical brain goes - off road, mud, sheep sh*t, beige buggy. Hmmm Hmm

That's good news on the rain cover - a big relief - we have a rain cover from the vintage urban detour which may work as another option.

I've seen that second one too - am now torn as they're about the same distance from us, and the 2nd one seems to be in better condition..... Another dilemma!

Or buy both, take the best bits from each and flog the rest??? Grin

buying both would mean you would have spares if you needed them, also if you did not bid on the first one and then did not get the second one you would be gutted :( can not see why the raincover you already own would not fit it, they are both 3 wheelers and i see your point about the red being a better colour for on a farm. good luck with your bidding :)

Hoping to pick it up tomorrow which will give us time to try it/play with it/check the condition and see if we need to buy the other one as well. Hoping not, as it won't stay pristine here for long!!!

Highly excited here Grin. Is it too mad woman-ish to put a bag of spuds in it and take it for a walk??? Hmm

fab great price too :o i have taken an empty pram round the block to try it out, so i would say no not mad at all go for it :o i have even quickly taken a pram round the close in my nightie and coat to see what it was like Blush (i could not wait for the morning very sad i know)

Oh god, we got it home last night, and its completely gorgeous! Puncture proof wheels, suspension, proper carrycot and parent-facing with a cosytoes and massive hood.

It truely is pram heaven Grin

I am addicted already and can't wait to actually have a baby to put in it

I borrowed a baby and the walk was lovely.

Only problem is I have no instruction manual and finding it hard to adjust everything- googling is no good as no longer made!

Did you work out about adaptors for car seat?
