I need it to have swivel/lockable wheels, and be good in snow/mud as well as on paths.
It needs to be able to carry milk plus fruit and other bits of shopping (so strong)
It will be used alot, but not put in the car very often.
I would ideally like a rear facing option but definately from new born.
I like the Jane Slalom but new they are too expensive (DH not keen on second hand from ebay) Hmm
I have the old stylee mothercare urban detour which I really like, but getting a carrycot for them is like getting blood out of a stone.

I have seen (on an ebay shop) the Hauck Icoo platon.
Are they any good?
What say you?

I don't like the little wheels on the Firstwheels ones, otherwise they would be great, I've had a pram like the Emmaljunga before - I found it awkward
on our little paths and when holding a younger dc's hand. Otherwise, yes perfect.
The easywalker looks good though, I especially like the carrycot.

I guess he's going to have to deal with it, I am paying for it and I think if I find something I like new for about what I'd pay second hand, well...
I can't buy (say) the Jane slalom brand new on my own though.
The Nurse three wheeler looks good though(is it made by Jane?). I had a good look on the Mothercare site and it seems about right for what I need (and is cheaper than a Mountain buggy (which I also covet)
I'm not sure about the squiggly pattern but hey, nothing's perfect right?

Well if you are paying I would say go for whichever you like be it new or second hand! FWIW I would buy used now whereas PFB well... that's a £1100 I will never see again BlushShockAngry!

Definately made by Jane, here is some info about it.

Also Copazo carrrycot fits onto the chassis so can be a rear facing for newborn. :)

Ultimately I'll get what I want [mwahahaha] but he told me his opinion, which is fine. Like I said if I find a new one with everything most of what I want for not too much more than a second hand mountain buggy or jane slalom I'll go for it. £200 max £300 I suppose new.
I like the idea of saving where I can though so I might end up ignoring reasoning with him and getting from ebay.

£1100! Shock

Too right because no doubt you will be doing most of the pushing so it needs to be comfortable, aalthough am quite impressed that it is the man who wants to spend more money! DP would have had DS in a wheel barrow if I'd have let him :o

Um... yes £1100 on several pushchairs. I had my Emmaljunga Cerox which was £550 and loved but outgrown at 18m Angry then a Jane Energy which was pants, then an M&P 03 Sport which was fantastic BTW but no carrycot option, a Mac XT which I despised and then finally and best of all my beloved Baby Jogger City Mini which I was gutted to let go!

Ach we live and learn eh? Wink

In all honesty so would my DH (shrugs). If I could buy a new carrycot for my urban detour I would and we'd both be happy, as it is it would only be used. (going round in circles)

Oh, so not all on the one then... well, that's not quite as bad surely? Wink

Not quite so bad :o

What kind of Urban Detour is it and did you ahve a carrycot before?

Twit · 10/03/2011 12:37

Extreme onyx I believe. I got it the season before they started selling them for it Angry and DD was supposed to be the last (hah) and at about 12 weeks it didn't seem necessary any more. When DS3 was born I got a jane powertwin from a friend so didn't need one then either.
Very frustrating though.

cheap mb

Any good if you buy carrycot?

deliakate · 12/03/2011 17:44

Teutonia are great, and not massively expensive (comp to Bugaboo anyway!). We had the Fun System, its so sturdy, but very plush.

elk4baby · 13/03/2011 17:11

Mutsy 4Rider Light - a 4x4 of a buggy, can carry a LOT

Pigleychez · 13/03/2011 18:23

I have a Cosatto

Been fab and is currently being again used for DD2. The carrycot is large and roomy and lasted DD1 till 6mths.
Very sturdy, never tipped even with lots of shopping on it.
Rearfacing/forward facing seat which I loved. DD1 was RF till 18mths.
Lockable wheels with great suspension.

Easily takes a buggy board too.

Here www.nurseryvalue.com/reworked/dogtooth-carrycot-reworked.aspx has the carry cot for the urban detour. They are out of stock at the moment, but may be getting them back in, or it might be worth giving them a ring sometimes the website says out of the stock but they have one left in the warehouse.
