nice garden, nice kitchen

worrying no pics of the bedrooms and bathroom which means tres grim

outside is a bit bland, but i like older rambling houses , bit boxy for me, but chacun a son gout

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/04/2009 21:15

Lovely garden rest is boring.

Hassled · 10/04/2009 21:17

I have revisited it and while I stand by my original view re lovely garden, I do see what others are saying - it is all a bit bland and functional. But it needn't be - it has potential.

LaDiDaDi · 10/04/2009 21:20

It looks clean and tidy but v. dated.

The lounge is a good size but ratger long and narrow in proportions; if you do view than I would think hard about how you would use that space for your family, esp as there is a separate dining room.

I suspect that it could be made fab but it would take a total revamp.

Thanks everyone, it is good to get other people's perspectives. I must say I am not WOW-ed by the house but am fed up of the lack of houses on the market around here. Need out the location a bit before we decide whether to view or not. Cheers mi dears

The lamp-post directly outside the bedroom window would irritate me.

The garden appears to be not overlooked, although that might be the angle of the photo

The 4th bedroom is actually a bedroom and not a boxroom which is a definite plus, although once wardrobes go in, it'll be tight.

Maintaining the outside (is it wood?/clapperboard?) would be a pita

Personally, unless it's the best you can get in an extremely desirable location, I'd keep looking.

violethill · 11/04/2009 13:42

Is it the Dursley's house from Harry Potter?

Sorry, but this screams 'suburbia'. I couldn't live in it, but whatever floats your boat!

ickletickle · 11/04/2009 18:02

ok, not my type of property, but i honestly dont think its up to much.

postives: nice looking garden, well looked after, wouldnt have to do much to it unless you wanted to.

negatives: three very small bedrooms, horrible fireplace, brown windows.
sorry

inscotland · 11/04/2009 19:07

not so nice inside. Needs lots done but the garden is lovely.

ForeverOptimistic · 11/04/2009 19:11

It is very big. I think you could turn that into a nice family home.

muppetgirl · 11/04/2009 19:12

there is nothing about it I will remember about it in a few days time. I say this from the pov of living in an equally nondescript house that is a newbuild.

The rooms are boxes with no character. A 22foot lounge isn't always the best as it's a large impersonal room.

The fireplace is horrible (as someone has already said)

Kitchen is boring (would have to replace)

Garden seems nice -but I havae garden ebvy of anyone with grass as my newbuild has only a yard...

muppetgirl · 11/04/2009 19:14

...and agree the lampost outside the house is irritating. We had one that wasn;t on for 3 years and it's been on for the past 6 months. HATE it. It gives an orange glow to our bedroom and can't sit in our livign room with the curtains open anymore as it is so bright (living room on middle floor so lamp/bulb height) dh has threatened to get a catpult on it!

nickytwotimes · 11/04/2009 19:15

Dear Lord, it is so expensive for such a bland building.
I am glad I live in a MUCH cheaper area. You coud get that round here for £200k.

sazzerbear · 11/04/2009 19:20

Unless its a bad pic, the garden looks a bit small for a house of that size?

WantingToMove · 13/04/2009 12:26

Thanks all, after much deliberation we have decided it is not for us as it is not in the area we want to be. Seen another one I think I may post for your thoughts as you have helped me a lot. Thanks

Wantingto - pleased to read you latest post. Have just looked at the link and I think the house is dated and the room dimensions are pretty poky the the price they're asking.
